Looking to keep fit and just to make new friends. Also need a workout buddy in Chicago to push me!

Quick summary since my life is a long and strange story...

I have a degree is Aerospace Engineering from University of Colorado, Boulder. (Yes, I am a rocket scientist!)

I was an Officer in the United States Air Force, a Navigator, Weapons System Officer, and an Electronic Warfare Officer in various jets. Primarily in F-4 and F-111...used to kill things the old school way!

I have flown faster than the speed of sound and flew 21 combat missions over Northern Iraq. Then I was kicked out during the early "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" years and had to start all over.

I have traveled to over 40 countries (Hobbies: Travel & Photography) , studied 6 languages (don't speak any very fluently!) and after some tough years (and stupidity which led to my HIV infection) roaming the planet, I ended up in Warsaw, Poland. I currently own a tortilla factory and a Mexican Restaurant/Bar. So, you never know where you will end up! Or what's next...

I have been a member of the European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG) since 1997 and often speak to kids about HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. I am just a volunteer, but in 2000 I spoke to groups in 14 countries, including Russia, Yugoslavia, most of Eastern Europe and Cuba. That was a good year with many great memories!

I have already dropped 6 lbs of fat since I found this site and got motivated to workout, so I am pretty happy. But with this new transition, I have been bad about working out lately. Still trying to get trim and build up a bit too!

I was initially very intimidated by all of the young six packs here, but I've gotten past that, have enjoyed meeting some cool guys my own age, I and have gotten some good advice. Thanks to all!

Just looking for someone who is real to keep in touch with an get workout tips from. I have been too busy to date, but hoping to start and really just hoping to meet someone cool someday. I don't do mind games. Frankly, I have been lucky, happy, and fortunate with friendships all of my life, but never had much of a private life. I guess that I am looking to bury myself in fitness to fill that void. Hopefully I will meet someone special someday. I am very confident and outgoing, and a pretty nice guy, but never made just "that" connection. Can anybody else relate? But my life is good, so I can't really complain.
