I HATE writing up profile descriptions about myself, but here goes....

First and foremost, I'm a gay man, but that by no means defines who or what I am. I spent most of my life denying my sexuality, and it wasn't until my mid-30s that I began to sort out my feelings and act on my attraction to other men. Now, looking back, my only regret is that it took so long to admit to myself and subsequently to others who and what I truly am. So, having lived in a "straight" world for the majority of my life, I'm still getting accustomed to what it means to be gay, and have learned to understand that there is no easy way to describe what a gay man is, any more than you can lump straight guys into one category or another. I'm a guy who just happens to be attracted to and enjoys having sex with other men, plain and simple. I like to do "guy stuff"...sports (both from a participant and spectator perspective), cars, beach, etc.

I'm an introvert by nature, so this makes it difficult for me to meet new people and make new friends, but I'm working on that. I've always been an emotional person, wearing my heart on my sleeve, but also having a keen understanding and empathy for other people's feelings. While this means I can tear up from merely watching a cheesy TV program, I like the balance that it affords.

I have a great family and friend support network that has been extremely helpful in my coming out stage. My family is the most important thing in the world to me, but I still think I take them for granted too much. I have a small group of really close friends that I would give an arm or a leg for.

I am honest almost to a fault. Sometimes that means blunt force trauma in terms of telling it like it is (or at least how I see it), but I'm willing to accept the same from others.

This will continue to be a work in progress as I try to succinctly summarize myself.
