I am lighthearted, playful- like lots of contact and activity. In addition to sports I enjoy gardening, baking, eating and travelling. My vacations largely consist of eating, hiking, skiing or camping; or big city travel - or both! Favorite travel destinations: Norway, SW Colorado, Montana, New York City, Seattle, New England, Alaska, France(speak/read French, but comprehension of spoken word is difficile), Italy(get by in Italiano), Spain, Austria. Places I want to see: Mexico, Peru, Nova Scotia. I have a variety of interests and passions...and am a lifelong learner.
I love running..on the track, the road, and trail and am always looking for running partners of any ability to share my passion with. In my mind there is no more pure raw effort of man...and none more beautiful than watching a disciplined athlete run in any sport. I also like to bicycle. In winter I like to alpine and nordic ski, snowshoe, and skate.
I like the mountain backcountry...and all parts of the rural west as I grew up here. I am a finisher of the leadville trail 100. Currently passionate about racing the 800m on track. anyone going to gay games Cologne 2010? Lets get together and train or form a 4x400 team.
Race /PR update: ran lifetime PR in 5K on sept 27, 2008: 18:33, 5:58/mile pace

bronze medal in road 5K in Copenhagen 19:00...

I am ramping up sprint work right now for summer track season. 1st meet is June 3 and will run 800, 400 and 3000.
I plan to run the rock and roll Denver marathon in October2010, ramping up miles after summer track culminating with a big meet in Cologne.
I like city life and rural life but not too much into the suburbs. I love the food, music and culture of big cities but also the silent peace of a mountain trail. At heart I am a quiet colorado kid once you get past my exterior.

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
'I love her for her smile - her look - her way
Of speaking gently, - for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day'-
For these things in themselves, Beloved, may
Be changed, or change for thee, - and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dry,-
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity.
