My physical transformation and the unconditional love and support from my friends and family throughout my never-ending fitness endeavor gave me the strength to love myself more than anything in life...
My name is Lorenzo Rodriguez. I'm originally from Crawford, Texas, a small town about two hours south of Dallas that no one has ever heard of, or is even recognized as an active location on the grid. I’ve been in Dallas since September of 2008, so almost four years already…time flies when you’re having fun! I moved to Dallas to attend college. I began my education in Marketing, but realized shortly after that I needed to do something more fulfilling…right about the same time my fitness craze began; so, I'm currently in school for Nursing.
I come from a big family; I'm the youngest of nine. I have four brothers and four sisters. I grew up in a very poor family, but nonetheless, my parents always put us first...even if I was a little monster. I remember being crammed in a tiny bedroom with my four brothers; my sisters suffered the same fate.
Fitness is a very big part of my life, if not almost all of it. A few years ago, I was an astounding 260 pounds…INSANE! This world is even more messed up physically than it is economically. I train twice a day, six days a week; I have to exercise twice a day, or I’m unhappy. To date, I'm at a solid 5'9, 155 pounds, and I'm at a 6% body fat composition! I combine strength-training, cardio, and meditation to make my exercise regiment both intense and effective.
I work in Dallas as a group exercise instructor and a fitness trainer for various fitness programs such as P90X, Turbo Jam, Insanity, ChaLEAN Extreme, Turbo Fire, and many other programs. I do virtual training, and I freelance train for clients who wish to be trained outside of a gym atmosphere. I teach Turbo Kick...A.K.A...kickboxing, supercharged with an edge! By Turbo Kick, I mean an intense cardio-conditioning workout fueled by the dynamic sound of dance, the hip feel of funk, combined with the power and strength of kickboxing. It’s very intense! For all of you, who worry that group exercise takes away from your masculinity, get over yourself. Do you honestly think people are taking precious seconds out of their busy day to watch YOU exercise? They couldn’t care less; they’re too busy trying to change their own lives.
I'm a die-hard advocate of Chalene Johnson. I'm also a life coach in the Team Beachbody community. Fitness is always your own, but at one point, it changes. The focus shifts from being just 'your fitness;' it becomes a genuine wanting to help other people. Being a part of that kind of change is just so rewarding, and it's a feeling that I simply can't describe!
In my free time, I take on the role of a motivational speaker and mentor at-risk teenagers at a crisis center downtown. I also sponsor an adolescent from the Congo whom I love very much and hope to adopt one day. I LOVE to help people see a BIGGER picture for themselves and their future! It is possible! Having accountability, a plan, and focus can get you there! Believe me, I know. If I’m saying this, I’m saying it because I know. I’m a person who has made a lot of mistakes in my life. I used to just coast through life thinking that everyone was going to put up with me and feel sorry for me. I was VERY, VERY wrong. At that point, I had made myself a victim.
Fitness changed my life forever! Not only did it change me physically, it changed my whole outlook on life. It made me the enlightened, happy, positive person that I am today…something I had never truly experienced. Some people just need a good, hard kick in the ass; I know that I did. My only regret is that I didn’t get it sooner. There’s nothing more rewarding for me at the end of the day than getting in front of a studio filled with athletes, strapping on that microphone, and leading them in something that I know is benefiting them physically and mentally…and most importantly, that they have FUN while doing!
I'm an easy-going guy who enjoys the simple things in life. I believe that the world would be a better place if we could all just learn to love each other for who we are. I love to have clean, safe fun with my friends and family. I'm very competitive and I always love a good challenge. I relate and grow best with those who challenge me to do better both physically and intellectually.
I'm primarily on Realjock to put myself out there as a prominent leader in the fitness industry, but I'm not opposed to letting life happen. Again, my name is Lorenzo. Take a chance; get to know me. You won't regret it; I'm a great catch, I promise. I might make you go a little bad, and I might make you get a little crazy. Oh yeah, before I forget... I could rock your world in ways you never knew someone could! Simply put, I'm NOT the average guy. I'm just a young man trying to make and influence positive change in this world through a physical well-being and an enlightened sense of mentality.
Tell me... Are you ready to be strong?
Guys I'm Looking To Meet
”As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down probably will. You will have your heart broken…probably more than once, and it’s harder every time. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love; so, take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt, because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.”
I think at some point, if not everyday, we are all looking for that one special person. I have realized that it's when you're not looking that he creeps up on you; therefore, I don't look. I dance like nobody’s watching, I laugh at myself at random times during the day whenever I remember something funny from my past, and I cry during the SPCA commercial where they show all the puppies and kitties that are homeless. Is my special guy out there? He may be, but I'm not looking for him. He’s going to have to find me this time. Everyone smile at someone today, because it might be the only smile they see all day, and they will remember it ten years down the road…
