Finally, updated, 04/02/2013
Thanks for creeping down below my pics and wanting (or at least curious) to know more about OUTLANDS; Far too many guys on here apparently cannot read or just don’t want to, so let’s save us some time and state the obvious: If you want to know more about me, read this!!!
After many years living on The Left Coast and Left-Coast-Adjacencies, I find myself in the Deep South for just over a year now. I had never made it any farther East than Tucson AZ, and now I can check off a whole string of states and cities here in the East; I now “get” bbq and have learned that the California belief that bbq=grilling is inherently FALSE, and I have learned more than I ever thought there was to know about Coleslaw, BBQ sauces, and Southern Food n general; it’s been a bit of a Paradigm shift!
Been through a great deal in my 40+ years and am still learning about myself and the world. Travelled a great deal and have enjoyed most everywhere I have been, including the near-death experiences ;-)
I am over-educated, perhaps too much for my own good, but have loved the experiences for the most part. I am a Cordon-Bleu-trained Chef: I studied in France back in the late '80s and early '90s before CB started franchising their cachet away (2 in Scottsdale, Arizona??? Seriously????) I did the restaurant thing and after years of obsessing about other people’s plates, have determined that life has become more important than finding micro-peashoots for the chilled petit pois and mint soup, ya know?
I read a lot, both fiction and non-fiction, but am not a snob about it or feel that a list of authors is supposed to be the equivalent of those "Where I have Travelled, Aren't I Worldly Maps' (oh, wait...)
I don't do cable TV, but watch DVDs of movies and series by the truckload (again, will enjoy most everything: 'The Whoopee Boys' should have been Oscar material.) Love wacky sitcoms too: hunt down 'Headcase' with George Stephanopoulous' wife, Alexandra Wentworth in it: it is HILARIOUS! "He has a cock on him like, MMMM. GOSPEL!"
If you have read this far, wow, I am flattered! It is difficult finding interesting guys that (hopefully) find me interesting as well; and as I do travel, who knows, I may wind up in your area!
Drop me a line, I would love to hear from you!
Oh, and if you IM me yet you have NO pics on your profile LET ALONE nothing written, I most certainly will not respond or accept. You can see me, why can't I see you???
Je parle le Francais un Ich Spreche Deutsche. Tschuss!
Oh, and if you have made it this far, some random things I like: vetiver, Tarlant, the sound the sheet makes as you trim the sail in a good wind, orchidaceae, black and white movies, Chartres, sourdough, Getting sweaty, restoring antiques, lemongrass, the scent of fresh turmeric, the sound of a leather belt being pulled through loops, working outdoors, sunset on the open ocean, Death Valley, Nullarbor, imperial green jade, Darjeeling, Southern Live Oaks, Latitude: 35.568715 Longitude: -82.906525, Orion, the Southern Cross, The Pleiades, whisky, Armagnac, semantics, long hot bath, beach runs, uni, Kranich and Bach, Kaskade, Chicane, Patti Griffin, Debussy, JS Bach, The Lark Ascending, The Divine Comedy, Keith Jarrett, Port, watching movies in bed, rainy days, dwimming in the ocean, squarecuts, a guy's hollow at the base of his throat, incandescent over fluorescent, candelabras, The Philadelphia Story, waiting at a stop light during a run standing there sweaty and pumped music blaring in my headphones while traffic starts moving, geology, meteorology, astronomy, maps, hardcover books over ebooks...
As this is APPARENTLY important now, a map where I have travelled:

Guys that have something to say and delight in people watching and being active.
Getting to know each other through email and conversations goes a long way with me, oh and if any of this long preamble was enjoyed, provoked thought, made you wonder, or intrigued, drop me a line...
Cheers guys
