ABOUT ME

Busy psychotherapist/author with many interests, hobbies and responsibilities. I love long-distance cycling, strength training, walking/hiking, and in the past year, intense spinning classes at my gym (Berkeley Ironworks). I thought setting up a profile here might facilitate finding some local friends/partners for any or all of the above, which I do pretty much on my own most of the time--it'd be nice to have some companionship.

My weight goes up and down (ranges between 195-240 at any given time), depending on my workouts and my dietary discipline, and I don't stress much about it, since my health is excellent.
But of course it's always easier on the bike when I'm lighter and I always feel much better when I'm eating right and getting regular cardio. So that would be helpful, too--making friends and working out with guys that are coming from the same place around dieting and size for mutual support.

Currently back on the wagon and dieting down to 195-200 this summer.

Some of my favorite things:

12-20 miles of Interval training on the Bay Trail in late afternoon--put on the iPod and crank it out!

Early morning (6am) rides to the top of Grizzly Peak to see the sunrise--after an espresso

90 minutes of hill-climbing through the Hiller Highlands or over to Montclair from my office over Rick & Ann's. The Berkeley-Oakland hills are my lunch-break backyard playground.

Quick Friday night after-work ride to Skyline via old Tunnel Road and then coasting down to dinner on College Avenue.

8-mile walk across town to work, by way of north Berkeley hills, east campus.
