Published Jun 12, 2006
Opening the Gay Games VII, out multi-Grammy winning singer Matt Alber performs “Beotia,” an original song about Greece’s Sacred Band of Thebes.
“Beotia” is from Alber’s debut solo album “Nonchalant.”
"Athletes were always the jerky guys I was afraid of in school," said Matt Alber told GayWired.com. "I always felt awkward and strangely warm around them. But I think I was missing the point. I'm preparing myself to be awed by the army of athletes in Chicago. I hope to reflect in my voice their undefeatable courage as I sing to them in the opening ceremony."
Alber joins over 60 other entertainers and athletes for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies . For more information, visit GayGames.org.
