have spent a few months living in NY and LA and Fort Worth (but that was in the 80's). i miss manhattan (i was at NYSC) and yearn to get back to LA (i was at that gay mecca: 24 hour fitness in weho - now when i watch porn, i recognize so many... um ... faces!)
if perchance we are at the same gym (anytime fitness in kx) and you want to work out some time (especially if you, too, are a hard gainer!!), give me a yell.
i've had health issues in the past and have had shingles twice. it can be a real blow to the confidence to come back after being sick and you see the losses in the mirror but looking at the pictures on other profiles will usually stoke the fires of motivation and get you back in there.
moving from conventional training into a HIT program (using ellington darden's book: the new high intensity training as a starting point). amazing what you can do in half the time! i have seen increases in strength and it fits better with my work schedule (because when you're doing a 10-14 hour shift, the last thing you feel like doing is loading up some weights). i'm a big fan of free weights rather than machines. the abs have developed from a combination of power moves that involve the core (deadlifts, chins, push ups, pull overs, blah blah) and - if i am totally honest - probably a little starvation and dehydration too...
and i love listening to DJ BRAVEHOUND's mixes while i'm at the gym!
