On M-W-F, I take a few breaks from cleaning pools and hit some push-ups. I do a set of 50 in the morning and in the afternoon, in addition to my regular gym time in the morning. On M-W-F, I also find time at one stop to do 10 pull-ups like this, and 10 more chin-ups, wide-grip, palms inward between 2 rafters.  All in addition to my regular gym time in the morning. Blu and I in May, 2007. This was from November 2006. I thought I looked tough with my shaved head, combat boots, and newly discovered muscles. Ha! I still had a long way to go! By March, 2007, after lifting hard for 3 months, I had finally started feeling some self respect about my body. When I look back I have to laugh.. I thought I was getting buff, but it was only the beginning! "before" part 3.a.. Ok, this is from November, 2006, on the day I actually got serious about working out. I wanted to take a true "before" pic so I could look back and see how far I've come. I really was trying my hardest to flex in this shot! Just compare this one with the same pose 4 months later... the difference is remarkable. "before" part 3: Here is the result of losing weight the wrong way... a crash diet! This was taken September 2006, at 170 lbs, after I had lost 50 lbs in only 60 days, without exercise. How did I do it? 1. I quit drinking completely. 2. I ate a bowl of cereal and a sausage patty for breakfast, a big lunch of vegetables and lean meat, no carbs, and only a light vegetable snack at night. No junk food, and only unsweet tea, water, or diet soda to drink. "Before" part 2: May 2006. This is just 2 months before I decided to change my life. I was near my all time low health. I was 220 lbs of bloated hot mess.  From the time of the first "before" picture when I was 18 until this one, I got absolutely no real exercise, ate lots of junk food, and I drank beer like a fish. I was tired, weak, and depressed. October 1994,  I shaved my head on my 19th birthday. I had worked out really hard for about 5 months when I was 16. I did 50 pushups and 10 pullups daily, and was catching up to the big boys in weight training class of high school. Had I kept on that trajectory, I would have been monster sized by the time of this photo... in prison! I was an out of control hoodlum. Instead, my mom exiled me to my grandma's house, I fell into a deep depression and never worked out again til I was 31! a true "before" pic. This is me when I was 18. March, 1994. I was skinny and weak. About 155-160 lbs. From this point until I turned 31, it just got worse. I stayed weak, while I put on 75 lbs of fat. This is the closest photo I have to what I looked like when I was in peak shape at 16. This was actually before my 18th birthday, and I had by then moved out on my own and had briefly snapped out of my depression and started working out again. It was only to last a few months though, before I succumbed to laziness again, and began my steady decline.

Name's Bryan, but friends call me Church. I live in St Pete and enjoy my life. I am just beginning to wake up again after a period of slumber. I have a wonderful man who brightens every day. We've been together close to 3 years now. We live in a nice house downtown with a big deck and a hot tub, and we love to have friends over.


I'm unlike just about any other gay guy you are likely to find.
I've been called a country boy because I love outdoor activities, I get dirty, I like to go off roading, I work on cars, like guns, camping, hiking, and fishing...

but I am much more than that.

I also have been labeled a headbanger or metalhead, because (obviously) I love heavy metal, in just about all it's forms except the cheesy 80's glam/hair rockers... ugh- That's not metal. I could fill this page with a list of bands I like, but I shall not.....

but once again, to label me that would be to fall quite short of who I am.
I also love many other kinds of music; funk, soul, r&b, country, jazz, blues, avant garde, alternative/indie, punk, even some house, techno, disco and occasional pop, hip-hop, and rap songs.

I've chosen to identify as a masculine gay bottom, sexually- though my sexuality is much more versatile than that..
I love to top in the right situation, and I have even enjoyed being with women on occasion.

I'm artistic, but I tend not to use my creativity much.. hoping to change that.
I'm poor, and hoping to change that.

I'm spiritual, intellectual, and sometimes I think too much for my own good. Unfortunately, I am a dreamer, for my interests vastly outpace my means.
I could go on and on about my interests and personality, but it would not tell you who I am... only getting to know me will!


I actually joined this site for fitness reasons, although I find now that bodybuilding.com is better suited for that purpose. Anyway, keeping with the theme of this site, the rest of what is written below is more or less a history of my bodybuilding saga, from where I came from to where I'm at. Hopefully I can inspire someone!

I was never athletic as a kid. I was chubby in my pre-teens, then got tall and became skinny as a rail from puberty thru 20 or so. At that point my hard partying lifestyle began taking it's toll. I got as little exercise as possible, I was quite lazy, and I drank a lot of beer and ate whatever I wanted. Fortunately I was blessed with a somewhat high metabolism, so I never became majorly obese, but by the time I was 31, I was a 220 lb huffing and puffing mess, and I knew I had to change.

After a crash diet in which I shed 50 lbs in 2 months, I was still not happy with my body, for I was incredibly puny once all the fat was gone that had given me the illusion of being somewhat tough. I decided to start working out, and joined a gym. What a rude awakening on my first day there, when I could only bench 85 lbs 3 times, and got 8 curls of a 20 lb barbell in! I had serious work to do.


I was so determined, I managed to get myself in almost decent shape in 4 months. I was benching 3x10 at 170 lbs, and curling 3x10 with 40 lb barbells. I had gotten a bit of a chest and some visible muscles in my arms. Then I quit for 2 years after I met my man and relocated. Life just got hectic. Now I am back on it, and growing every day. My goal is to have a bodybuilder physique.. Something like Matthew Rush, perhaps. I'd like to have at least 18" arms, a 50" chest, and a 32" waist, with the rest of the body proportionate.

GUYS I'M LOOKING TO MEET

*** You know, I'm really starting to like this site. I think there are more "real men" on here than any other gay site I've been to. I'm not into the "gay lifestyle" per se, and it is refreshing to find so many other guys who are on the same page. now, if only I can find a few local bro's to hang out with....***

To be more specific, I'd like to meet some local gym buddies, other gay friends we can hang out with and do things like camping, boating, etc. And Blu and I are in an open relationship... if you meet our standards, then we may play. *wink*

If you bothered to read anything I wrote above, and any of it intrigued you, then I would love to meet you. However, be warned, I don't have much to say to people who I have little in common with, and if you are not local, I may not be good at maintaining a long distance computer friendship. Also, I tend to get along better with people closer to my age, for we have more common experience to relate to. That said, I adore youth as much as the next guy, and have many younger friends, over 18. Not too much into older guys though, except maybe for stimulating intellectual conversations, and talks about "what it was like back then".

Physically, my tastes are all over the map, so don't be afraid to say hi, regardless of what shape you're in. Just note that I am not into rude sexual comments and chat.. If you approach me that way, don't expect a response.


In addition, I would love to inspire someone to work out and get the body they want, I may aspire to be a personal trainer someday.... So if you are looking for advice, inspiration, support, or maybe a bit of a push to help you meet your goals, let me know!
