    Description

I'm 5'11". Cancer-free 3 years on, and lovin' life. I was struck with brain cancer and had the tumor removed in 2011. Physically and mentally I've bounced back! I've learnt to let the small stuff go, and take each day as it comes.... appreciate the silliest things, value friendships, I've no time for gay drama.

UPDATE: 8/7/2017, After being cancer-free since 2011, I had my first seizure in 6 years a year ago to the day. I'm currently in Seattle that Seattle Proton Center undergoing Proton Therapy. For those who don't know, proton therapy is a radical new form of radiation that focuses the radiation beam on the tumour with laser-like precision. The radiation does not go any further than the tumour, and unlike conventional radiation, does not damage any other tissue, reducing the chance for further cognitive damage. I'm doing chemotherapy concurrently (oral). Temozolomide. Yes, all my hair on my head is mostly gone, except for some patchy growth, so I shaved it all off when I manscaped Saturday.... It'll come back, and that's a small price to pay to have my health. I hope none of you who read this have to go through this. Fortunately, I am in good physical shape, so my side-effects have been minimized, and I've been active and still can work out, crossfit, etc... I paddle-board every weekend on all the lakes around the Seattle Metro area, and Bainbridge Island. Just trying to keep weight on, as my appetite does not exist. Down about 10 lbs, trying to maintain, and not looking to bulk. FUCK CANCER!!
2/10/18: Finished chemo and feeling like a million bucks. Hitting the gym hard. Hired a trainer who wrote a diet program for me. Traveling and doing some fun adventures. Sold my standup paddle board, and purchased a new one (Costco).
    If you've read this far....
August, 2013, hiked the Grand Canyon, Rim to Rim to Rim (48 miles) in 18 hours... I beat my former time of 18hours, and 58 minutes. I know, it's the small victories, right?!
I like good conversation, good food, cafe' au laits, beignets, The New York Times crossword puzzle, Fahreed Zakaria, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, muscles, intelligence, good manners, prossecco, Alsacan wines and foods, OKTOBERFEST, my two nieces, three nephews, the ranch, horses, combines, fishing, biceps, football, kissing, swimming, camping, biking. I was a recreational pilot before I became ill. Lost my license, (FAA doesn't like licensees having seizures whilst flying). Not sure I have the desire or $$ to get back into flying. Maybe someday. :)
