Any suggestions where I can go to meet non-scene guys in Munich, Duesseldorf, Cologne, Antwerp and London? I prefer cafes to bars although both are fine. Or any other places?

    Sorry for the confusion. Non-scene = non-clubbing/partying.

Next week - do you mean you're in 5 cities in 7 days? You'll be too tired to meet anyoneicon_smile.gif

Aren't the gay games in Cologne pretty soon? There should be enough hot non-partying guys for you there then all around town. In London, most of the hot closeted guys (i.e. non-scene) hang out at Pleasuredrome, a sauna/bathhouse under the Waterloo station railroad trestles. Haha. What's up with all these guys having so many pre-requisites like "non-scene" and "non-fem" whatever those even mean.

Also just make sure to end your trip having some champagne, smoked salmon, and oysters at Caviar & Prunier right at LHR. It's the most delightful way to end a trip to Britain (and Ireland since there's one at DUB now).

Thanks for the tips WildeBoi81. The Cologne games are starting on July 31. So the timing's not quite right.

Sorry if I've offended anyone but I didn't mean to. Just forget those labels if they were misleading.

Unfortunately I'm flying out from LGW not LHR. Is there one at LGW?

    Why not Amsterdam?

Try www.gaydar.co.uk or maybe gay guys on www.couchsurfing.com.

Been there. Not my priority this time. My main desination is Germany but will go to London by way of Belgium.

By the way, I actually like Rotterdam and even Den Haag better than Amsterdam.

Yeah I read that in your profile after I posted my message.

Rotterdam has no charm and is completely rebuilt after the 2nd world war bombings. It is great for business, shopping and food. Otherwise there's not much to it.

The Hague is cute, but definitely not better than Amsterdam icon_twisted.gif

Have fun in Germany, Belgium and London.

Thanks Geoedward and Monir. I'll have a great time seeing a lot of contemporary art there.

Sorry Monir I didn't know you're from Amsterdam. I know my taste is a bit wierd sometimes.

For London you can head over to Yelp.com and check out upcoming events coming up. Be sure to check out Time Out London for other events too.

Or you can try staying in a hostel. You'll meet a lot of interesting travelers, I prefer hotels though.

Speaking the language helps too if you're looking to befriend a local or are in a non-touristy spot.

I'll actually be backpacking and staying in hostels the whole time. I hope I'll meet some artists or art-loving locals.

I like Rotterdam better than Amsterdam because of my personal interest in contemporary art and architecture there. But I think you are fortunate enough to live in Amsterdam - you could easily visit Rotterdam and many other cool places nearby.

Couch surfing is a great idea. I never thought about that.
