Has anyone flown with Icelandair?

They've got the only reasonable prices I can find this year to get to Scandinavia. No doubt they need to bring foreign money into their economy, so it wouldn't surprise me if they are subsidizing air traffic through their country.

Does anyone have any experiences with them to share?

I flew Iceland Air... thirty-five years ago, when they were the ONLY alternative to TWA PanAM etc.

Cheap but professional. I think it was JFK to Luxembourg; and you woke up in Reykjavik and were trundled off the plane into an old USAF quonset hut while they refueled.

    Ah memories...

You will enjoy Icelandair I'm sure.

It's been a few years, but we flew them from Boston to Reykjavic and the aircraft was a clean Boeing, the service was good, each seat in economy had it's own screen for entertainment, and they showed Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" video between shows.

I'm not sure if it still their slogan, but at the time it was "Icelandair...the coolest airline flying to europe." We loved it!

We flew Iceland Air to actually go to Iceland! We had an amazing time there, so would recommend that you try to fit a stop and visit if you can!! The people are super friendly, has a thriving gay scene, and of course you must visit the Blue Lagoon!
(Oh and the flight was good, great service and comfortable!)

Travel professional here, so I wanted to give you a "professional" opinion!

I don't book clients on that Icelandair much, but the feedback I have received has been very positive about the airline, so.....book 'em and enjoy!

Thanks everyone. I fly in one week.

The only inconvenience I've run into so far has been that the codeshare that is operating the first leg of my trip (Air Canada) offers less in the area of free checked baggage than Icelandair. Way to screw me over! I have to pay a fee to check a second bag even though the airline that I purchased with offers 2 free bags.
