Hey guys, I'm new to this site (joined yesterday) and I'm beginning a 6-month long backpacking trip of Europe, by myself, in two weeks!! I was wondering if anyone would be in the following places when I'm there, and maybe we could meet up and hit up some gay bars/clubs (or do something more wholesome, but still gay - like seeing The David icon_wink.gif )

    Here's my "loose" itinerary:

Greece, July 13-26 (a "college tour" of the Greek Isles)
    Florence, July 27-31
    Venice, August 1-4
Amsterdam, Aug. 5-10 (for gay pride)
Berlin, Aug. 11-17 (unless I meet some cool travelers in Amsterdam)
Copenhagen, Aug. 18-22 (another gay pride...)
    Paris, Aug. 23-30
Barcelona (3.5 months of study abroad!)

Also, if you have any travel recommendations, must-sees, or gay-friendly places to stay, please let me know! I'm staying in cheap youth hostels, so hopefully your recommendations won't be fancy 5-star hotels.

Anyway, any advice or willingness to be travel buddies would be extremely helpful! I'm really excited for this trip and your insights will hopefully make it better.

I think you could shorten the Venice part of your trip, since you can see basically everything there is to see there in a day or two, unless you plan on hitting the beaches near there. Go to Verona or something for a little while.

It looks like a pretty extensive trip, though! Are you flying to all of these places?

We are big on using the couch surfing site in Europe and there are plenty of gay groups for each area, so I recommend trying that site out. It's a great way to save some money and meet cool people that can really make your trip kickass.

    You'll have a blast!

Bunjamon - I just extended my Florence stay by 1 day and removed that day from Venice, because I heard the same things from other friends. Thanks for the reinforcement!

Shyshortguy - Never thought of that, looked at the website, looks great! Thanks icon_wink.gif

Hey I'm going solo as well. Will be in Amsterdam for pride, and Berlin right after that. How are you enjoying your trip so far?
