I was wondering if anyone had been following the Spring 2011 Menswear collections that have been showing on runways in Milan and Pairs so far? If so, what have you thought so far?

I'd have to say at this point, for me, Burberry Prorsum and Jil Sander have been two of my favourites. Christopher Bailey always manages to provide great classic looks, but adds a twist with some edgier pieces and styling http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2011MEN-BURBERRY.

I've always been a fan of the minimalist look and slim tailoring of the Jil Sander line, but this year they decided to punch it up with tonnes of bold colours and fun prints http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2011MEN-JLSANDER.

Anyways, just wanted to see if any of you had some favourites (collections, pieces, models) that you wanted to post about icon_smile.gif

All I could think of while going through the slide show was how all of the models look like they were competing for the role of Edward in Twilight....

Good find Bunjamon, I loved this collection also. The hits of maroon and navy among the beige and olive were pretty fantastic. And I think I spotted one of my favourites, Sean O'pry, among the line-up of models! I will admit that I'm not sure I get the socks with sandals either haha.

Since this thread seems like it will live or die based on eye candy, here are a couple pics from the collections I already said I liked.

I think it's a sharp, clean, retro yet modern look.

Is that brown overcoat at the beginning of the Burberry Prorsum article supposed to be stylish? Look awful to me.

Burberry is pretty well known for the coats they produce, a lot of the designs are pretty classic. The designer works around those classic pieces to try and stay true to the traditional roots of the house while still updating the look to stay relevant. That being said, not every coat they put out there is going to be a hit. I prefer their more tailored trenches, especially when belted, so I'd have to agree with you, Caslon, about not being a huge fan of the first piece.

The dimensions and sizes for men are definitely shrinking, ever since the skinny jean hit about 3 or 4 years ago. I'm guessing that most of these guys are around 6'0-6'1, with 28-29" waists.. the biggest waist would probably be a 30.

Unless you're talking about designers such as DSquared or Dolce & Gabbana.

It's always tough to see the trends that will be coming out of the seasonal shows
Because it all depends on what the press picks up on and what the buys purchase to run in the stores
But I don't think we're gonna see a lot of guys wearing socks with sandals this year
    .... God I hope not icon_rolleyes.gif

D&G always puts on the best runway show

Muggler lost his mind year ago shortly after he was forced to close his couture house. Became obsessed with making everything bigger

Dolce Gabanna were top this year for me, followed by Dior and Galliano homme.
Galliano definitly top it in entertainment stakes

Kris Van Assche showed his 1st independant line the day before this dior gig, that was quite good
    Found Versace a bit boring
Givenchy was alright too, unusual as ever.

    Missed Alexander McQueen this time!!!!
Chris Baily was good too, all his stuff is always wearable, but i dont like him! hes actually really boring. lol still good though

AND who can forget Monsieur Gautier! Inspired by a turkish bath house.
