Second thread on this topic for any runners who don't want to chat about Lady Gaga or if the guy above/below you is a top/bottom - looking at doing a daily running log for anyone that wants to add for a little inspiration (and accountability). Here's mine for today:

Ran 30 minutes (4.22 miles after an hour bike this morning (a "brick" workout in tri language). Supposed to be an easy run just to get the legs moving but was feeling strong. Did about a 7:08 pace which was faster than expected. I think my core and leg workouts are paying off. That and the fact that we finally had a day without too much heat and humidity.

Followed the 30 minutes with 6 barefoot striders (100 yard barefoot sprints on a soccer field) to focus on foot plant and then a 5 minute cool down jog to the local coffee shop for a bagel with peanut butter.

I'm inspired by your efforts---thanks for posting Ironman.

I got up to pace tonight, surprisingly, and it was much sooner than I expected.

I think the main problem with my slow improvement over the past several weeks had mostly to do with dehydration---I was tanking after a couple of miles, feeling exhausted, and couldn't figure out why. I realized yesterday that I was drinking barely a glass of water throughout the day, opting for way too much coffee instead, so I remedied that with a lot of extra water this afternoon.

5 miles with my club in 36:21 (7:16 per mile). On the comeback trail and feeling good today!

{Posting as Xassantex, who entered his July 1 workout in yesterday's thread}:

    "5km today.

    split into intervals
    9min - pace: 3'46
    1min - 3'24
    3min - 3'40
    2min - 3'32
    1min - 3'30
    1min - 3'20
    1min50 - 3'40
gave me a total of 18'18" , which i could never sustain non stop. *dreams*"

Jogged for an hour along the water front. Don't care about the pace, just enjoyed the water and the exercise high :-)

I ran 3.1 miles this afternoon at a pace of 8:15. I'm hoping to pull off a sub 22 5k by next year.

Cool thread guys. Here's my contribution from last night:

Got a late start so only was able to do 7.59 miles, 1hr2min33sec. Felt like I was running a good pace but obv not so good.

Tomorrow is my "long" run - hoping to finally hit 16.
