What movie scares you the most?

I just read the forum on Paranormal Acitivity 2, and I searched the forums for the scariest movies people have seen. I found one about favorite scary movies, but not necessarily the movie that scares you most. I love horror movies, but none of them seem to scare me anymore... it seems they all just go for gore and making you jump, but nothing more. When I was younger Child's Play scared the shit out of me, and I've been scared of human-like dolls since. Stephen King's It also terrified me... clowns are awful.

So I'm just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for horror movies that will actually SCARE me, as in make me afraid to walk to the bathroom down the hallway by myself.

I am 41 years old. The Exorcist still freaks me out. Although the old policeman is creepier than Regan.

Silence of the Lambs is still scary as hell. It's really just Hopkins - and he isn't even on screen that much, 17 minutes or something.

Paranormal Activity, movies about evil ghosts or the like scare me the most because I'd rather have a serial killer trying to kill me than a ghost, cuz a ghost has supernatural powers and can haunt you forever but you can just kill the serial killer, LOL

Actually, despite being a horror aficionado, the move that freaks me out the most is the Mothman Prophecies. I cannot watch it. It's just completely creepy and makes me want to hide under the covers with my dog and a shotgun.

I'm a big fan of Mothman Prophesies. Just the right amount of creepiness, for me. The Strangers scared me because I could see something like that actually happening. The original Nightmare on Elm Street scared the hell out of me when it was released back in the 80s.

Dumplings was sooo disturbing. My mom actually makes great dumplings/pot stickers and after seeing that movie I couldn't eat them for a while. icon_eek.gif

well scary movies hardly ever get to me but if it is a movie like Paranormal Activity which deals with the supernatural and spirits, that freaks me out cause I believe in spirits. so Paranormal Activity for me

I remember the first scary movie I saw - The Fog (1980) - I was 7yrs old. I was terrified of the fog for a while after, but fell in love with scary movies.

Nowadays I simply laugh at scary movies - they just don't make 'em like they used to. PA made me laugh so hard I had to leave the theater - was so happy to get a refund from that mess. I like movies that are at least somewhat believable. And by believable, I mean, the acting and directing are believable. I can get scared from a supernatural film (Poltergeist is my fav with the Exorcist a close second) but whatever the film (serial killing, ghosts, clowns) as long as it seems possible on screen - I'm all for it.

TCM - a classic, my fav still to this day.
