I've been listening to Jónsi's album for a few months on repeat, and still love it. Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for artists like him?

i'm assuming you already know sigur rós, but if you don't... of course check them out. especially ágætis byrjun which is a masterpiece.

mono is a wonderful postrock japanese band which has the same dreamy epic quality.

a little different, but early múm albums also have that cutesy cozy magical icelandic thing going on.

    Magical Icelandic thing = Amiina.

But there's nothing quite like Jonsi's new album. I'm like you, I can't stop listening to it.

Yeah he's amazing... In that vein, I recommend Mum, Owen Pallet (Heartland is the album of the year for me) and Antony and the Johnsons-- and yeah, any and all Sigur Ros.

I agree with an earlier post, his stuff is kind of in a class of its own. Not much out there sounds similar.

Any suggestion would be a stretch, but two recommendations that iTunes popped out were Yeasayer and M83. I can kind of see that. Too Late by M83 and I Remember by Yeasayer, specifically.

Side note, if you have the chance, go see Jonsi in concert, it was a very moving show. I saw him in April and I was far more affected than I anticipated.

Jonsi's album is amazing... check out his work with Sigur Ros if you already haven't. Another band you might like is Mum, also Icelandic:

Great suggestions! Yes, I already listen to Sigur Ros, as well as Jonsi and Alex. It's all very uplifting music I find.

Now I'll have more artists to check out though! thanks!
