Arizona Republican declares gays "lacy-drawered, limp-wristed" people while expressing his opposition to the repeal of DADT.

This is what the Republican party mentality looks like here in AZ.
The Repubs here don't just want to take away the civil rights of anyone who looks Mexican, they also want to deny gays equal rigfhts too.

Of course, as we saw when it came to vote in Congress, Republicans from all across the country opposed repealing DADT and opposed giving gays equal rights.

This was posted here previously, when the comments by this Republican mayor were first made. I will remind RJ members of the Republican loyalists here who did NOT criticize his remarks, but who do support every word made against Democrats and gays.

How come the Dem-haters here have yet to say something critical about this mayor's anti-gay rant, more than a month later? I think we know why...

What do you mean AFTER the gays? They are attacking gays NOW. That is what Arizona elected officials are doing right now, what this is all about.

We aren't talking about SB1070, we are talking about the anti-gay comments of one of your Arizona mayors. Would you care to stay on topic and talk about THAT?

"As mayor, I must respect the lifestyle choices of others, no matter how disagreeable they are with my personal beliefs or my personal moral standards," Krieger told the Yuma Sun over the weekend.

Well my apologies. I'm so grateful my "lifestyle choice" is respected by one of your Arizona mayors, despite it being so "disagreeable" to his "personal beliefs" or "moral standards."

And you endorse his statement? REALLY? You think this actually disproves what I've said here? Are you fucking serious??? icon_eek.gif

I have ASKED that you address the anti-gay comments of the mayor of Yuma, Arizona. Which you continue to evade. Isn't that interesting, on a gay site?

And BTW, you previously dismissed the mayor's comments as being from a "small town" --

...lumping all of AZ for what the mayor of small town Yuma, AZ said

Being from Arizona, you must know that Yuma's population is 90,000, hardly "small," and the 10th largest city in the state. Plus whatever its size, the mayor's remarks got national attention for the state.

Are you ready to condemn the mayor's anti-gay remarks yet? You were quick to condemn me for criticizing them, so when do you state that gay hatred and bigotry are wrong? And why should a gay man need to be prompted to do that at all? Why, as an Arizona resident, weren't you the first to reject that mayor's homophobic comments?

    I live in AZ, bud.
    I don't hate AZ.
What I have a problem with is the hateful right-wing Republican politicians who are using anti-Mexican and anti-gay laws and rhetoric to try to get their lame asses reelected.
It's typical Republican election year smear and fear tactics to divide people with inflammatory hot button issues.
God forbid that they should try to get reelected by actually doing their jobs well enough to EARN reelection.

Equating disapproval of the hateful racist and anti-gay tactics being used by the AZ Republicans with actual racial and anti-gay hate is 100% BS.

You fail to acknowledge that the vast majority of your fellow Arizonans strongly approve of the "hateful racist and anti-gay tactics" according to every poll that's been conducted. 100% BS? Rather, I think 100% true. Could it be your affection for your home state causes you to be in denial of the facts?

That's something I've noticed concerning the differences between Republicans/Conservatives and Democrats/Liberals.

Republicans will almost never speak up to challenge anything that their party members espouse, no matter how heinous.

As a liberal Democrat, if Obama, or Pelosi, or Feinstein do something with which I disagree, I'm going to mouth off about it. It doesn't mean I'm any less liberal or Democratic. They're not perfect.
