    Nerd Alert!

Did anyone else love Battlestar Galactica? If you haven't checked it out this is a really good show! It was so exciting. The acting was so good it made you love and hate the characters at the same time. I felt so sorry for the hardship the characters went through during the show. And it had amazing action sequences!

Heres a sample of an action sequence and music! BTW The music from this show in itself is amazing. Bear McCreary is a genius!

That's not how you sell a series on a gay forum, THIS is a knife

    Lee Adama and

    Helo

Good enough reason to watch the show.

Aside from total hotness, it really is a good series. I haven't seen the entire series yet, I'm only up to the end of Season 3, but so far it's been really good. I like the idea that they combine themes of leadership and space-survival. I feel it's a bit darker than other science-fiction-series I've seen, and frankly it's my favourite science-fiction-anything. Yes I like this way more than Star Wars, Star Trek, you name it.

I usually find the recurring theme of the hardships of leadership very interesting. The storyline is that human race has been pretty much extinct with the exception of the Battlestar Galactica and some Civilian ships (saying anything more here would be too much of a spoiler). The President is a woman who's strongly for liberty, but at the same time she must consider the future of mankind since they're constantly hunted by these Cylons that initially destroyed all life on he planet. So she has to make decisions such as banning abortion although she loathes the idea herself, but she has to make sure that people give birth and increase the population. Other decisions lie in whether the Admiral should risk thousands of life to save a soldier who he sees as his daughter, or whether they should abandon some Civilian ships to....

Okay I'm rambling now. The conclusion from this wall of text is, WATCH THE SERIES

Lurves it! I'm not a TV watcher, but I got hooked early this year and watched all of it, and Caprica as well.

I resonate with Helo. His character is most similar to mine.

However, Samuel Anders is just plain hotness on the hoof! Yum!

Yeah, when they showed it on Sci-Fi channel a couple of years ago, watched the whole series... I am a fan of the franchise from all the way back to the original series in the 1970s... was then, and is now, one of my favorite series. I was not sure I would like the new version, but was hooked after first show... AND now Caprica. Although longer than the first series, this incarnation, lasting only 4 seasons, wasn't long enough...! I hope Caprica ties everything together nicely as it unfolds...

My bf was really into it, I never took the time to watch, but I heard a lot of good things. I'm sure he'd like to get it on DVD.

BSG was definitely some very good television that was constantly being passed up for excellence awards. I think it ended too soon and I really did not completely like the nicely wrapped up ending but I am very hopeful that Caprica really defines the back stories that lead to BSG.

The new BG will definitely be remembered as one of the best shows in television. Brilliant writing, superb acting, universal themes...

I miss BSG so much; sister and I were heartbroken when they announced the series was coming to an end.

I fell in love with Bear McCreary's work on the series as well.

BS is one of my faves !! I have all the DVDs. It redefined Sci-fi. The acting was nothing less than brilliant. It gave the genre a respect it never had before in the entertainment industry.

Too bad the prequel is not living up to BS.

Love BSG (new series) EXCEPT for the final season... such poor poor writing. Nothing made sense and it annoyed the hell out of me and my friends.

That said it's still a great show and one I would always recommend to my friends.

Time to up the nerd ante: Have any of you played the Battlestar Galactica board game?

I used to fantasize about a threesome with Anders and Lee Adama. But alas, the show is gone.
