He seems to have disappeared. I'm sure it must have happened in one of those moments where I was inattentive, but does anyone know what happened?

Personally, I always found Aero to be a tad arrogant. I attributed it to the facts that he is physically very handsome ...and dressed quite stylishly. But I am afraid his blessings might have gone to his head.

As a friend, who knows him on another site, just replied to me when I mentioned Aero is gone:

"Aero so brash - I'll miss you like I miss a rash!"

Apparently, Aero isn't much liked on that canadian site.

Oh, this is terrible. I feel like I am speaking ill of the dead. So I'll stop now.

Should I start a "I WANT AERO BACK" thread icon_question.gif

I have been successfully in the past with this kind of thing icon_cool.gif

Anyway, I hope he's OK. I like him, and I hope he comes back.

Oh, no. Please dont do that. He's a big boy. If he decided to go, he decided to go. And we all should respect his decision.

I guess I probably more in the "middle of the road camp". I certainly recognized Aero, but haven't read many of his posts. I noticed good old Onoxiotto attacked him and Aero always seem reasoned in most the responses I have seen. He seemed to post alot so if he misses it, perhaps he will return.

Good old Onixotto?!! You're nuts. He had such obviously photo-shopped pics (face stuck on another body) that I could never take his idiotic rants seriously. Glad he's gone. Aero is far more interesting.

There are very few people on here that I really dislike...if Aero and Onixotto have disappeared, that's too bad. They were both interesting dudes, and, if opinionated, were far more intelligent than some of the random faceless lurkers who clog our mailboxes with insipid one-line come-ons but don't have the wit or time to post in the forums.

It seems to me that it is a very petty and unpleasant person who would use the opportunity of a person's name being mentioned, particularly in the absence of that person, to vilify them and vent spleen, but I can't colour myself surprised.

I just wondered if he'd been deleted in some sort of flame war scandal, but it seems everyone is as in the dark as I am, so I can only conclude that he got bored and wandered off

I was kidding around with the "good old" comment. He had attacked me as well.

"to vilify them and vent spleen" ... icon_eek.gif

...I won't even begin to wonder who "them" are in your statement, since all the other references were in the singular. ... icon_rolleyes.gif

And if you think that that is vilifying and venting spleen, child, you haven't begun to live. And, under the circumstances, I was quite civil, I can assure you.

Besides, I didnt absent him. He absented himself. He could be here under an assumed name, for all I know.

I enjoy Aero's posts and his contribution to RJ's forum. He's bright, opinionated, and creative icon_cool.gif I also dig his culinary opinions and overall zest de vive.

Whether removed or voluntarily withdrawn, I hope that he's taking care and having a good year.

Onixotto was obnoxious, but I didn't think he looked fake.

Aero is someone I will miss. He had a quirky sense of humor, which masked a good deal of anger that occasionally seeped through; but I think some people mistook his anger for arrogance. I didn't find him arrogant. That's a lot of why he was so mordantly funny; humor a lot of the time is anger turned into more socially acceptable forms.

The above is what I was describing.

Caslon saidI won't even begin to wonder who "them" are in your statement, since all the other references were in the singular. ...

As I had not inferred any gender to the person I was describing, I used "them" as an impersonal third singular, rather than an impersonal third plural. I was obviously talking about Aero, so I could have said "him," but I had not identified an individual in the preceding clause, so I didn't.

    Anyway...

There, you see, he could have been an angry psychopath, bristling beneath the brittle bark of banal banter.

Oh poo. I've allowed myself to get involved in the snipey shenanigans that increasingly plague this site. I abscond myself from any further back and forthery. Caslon may be considered the victor if he so wishes.

I love or loved Aero. I'll be hosting a vigil at my desk in 20.
