Republican Mel Gibson caught on tape in anti-black and anti-latino tirade. Apparently, he doesn't ONLY hate the Jews.

Anybody still believe that Republicans are "compassionate conservatives"?

He's a hypocritical douchebag cuz he filmed Apocalypto in the state of Veracruz in Mexico (where I'm originally from) and he was really good friends with the governor and he was always kissing his ass, so he could get tax cuts and incentives, and now he's calling us wetbacks. icon_rolleyes.gif

He's an ignorant bigot. And people thought my people were being "too sensitive" when his movie "The Passion" came out. Um no. We weren't. Now he's slandering other minority groups and people are shocked. I'm not.

Wikipedia says he has always denied being a republican, but I would venture to say that based on the other information there and elsewhere that it is safe to say that he has aligned himself with the leanings of the tea baggers and republican party.

I really don't get what any of this has to do with him being a Republican...? That's kind of a low blow

I don't really care what his political affiliation is. He has always been a bigot with lot's of cash. And a teeny tiny brain.

Of course, his first real brush with bigotry was in the making of Braveheart, where he depicted a very mincing gay character who gets thrown out a window. After a great deal of pressure, he agreed to meet with some young lgbt filmmakers. None of these more recent events surprise me.

His 'historical' movies Braveheart and The Patriot (same film, different centuries) were full of Anglophobic bullshit and historical inaccuracy.

Take Braveheart (please, take Braveheart). William Wallace never met Isabelle, as she married King Edward II three years after Wallace's death (and was no older than ten when Wallace died); because her marriage to Edward took place after he had ascended the throne, she never held the title Princess of Wales; and the primae noctis decree was never used by King Edward. Indeed, there is no historical evidence that primae noctis (the basis for the entire film) ever existed.

    I dunno

How many ppl have said non-PC things when angry and when in an intimate "non-romatic" setting. ALL OF US HAVE! So calling him a bigot based off a private converstaion should be questionable at best.

I'm not defending him at all, I just against the whole ideal of releasing taped phone calls to the media in the sake of mudslinging.

He maybe a bigot/racist but as long as he keeps his ideas to himself the hell with it. We should be questioning why the hell no one is saying anything to the fact the tape was made public.

Sidenote....The N-word doesn't offend me because if you allow it to anger you in that which a way then it's serving it's purpose. Rising above the anger is what ppl don't expect and also a swift hit to the jaw either icon_razz.gif

I see exactly, if we all had mic hooked up to us recording every word we say we'd all be in for trouble. I know I would lol

It's not okay he thinks like that, but hes an adult and he's free to choose how horribly he wants to think and carry out his thoughts.... as long as he don't act on it... so be it

And can i ask a question?...Arent some jews racist as well? Everybodys racist these days. I live in New York so i would know. And i live a block away from a jewish neighborhood ( williamsburg) and they dont let any and anyone in that community. In fact jews tend to act as if slavery within the African Community didnt exist so who are they to judge Mr Gibson and his remarks. Its like a pot calling a kettle black situation. If they could segregate all of New York city they would do it. Case and point i was traveling from work on the M train from manhattan and a Hasidic Jewish woman came on with her child. He was probably 9 or 10. His mother told him to sit in the vacant seat between a black guy and another middle eastern woman. His remark was " dad said i should not sit near them". ..I could tell she was a little embarrassed that he said it..but she didnt correct him. .i just looked on in pity and i notice that in the mornings and evenings..they dont sit beside people that are not white if the seat is vacant.

A tad unfair to generalize Republicans on the basis of one crazy mofo. To be sure, there is definitely a preponderance of delusional conservatives but this man's actions may not necessarily be spurred by his political affiliation, it may simply be because he's a hateful person through and through.

Yes, of course, he's a Republican.

He wrote a fundraising letter/endorsement for a CA Republican in 2006, who dropped the endorsement in the aftermath of Gibson's anti-Jewish rant.

    http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/story/republican-candidate-drops-gibson-endorsement_1004823

Gibson was also someone Republicans wanted to draft to run for the CA governor seat until that first racist episode.

He's spoken critically of Bush, but then so has Republican Donald Trump.
SMART Republicans like Trump understand that Bush was a disaster for the Republican party, as well as for the country.

    "Republican Mel Gibson?"

Dude, he has always denied being a Republican.

But I guess since he says racist things, he MUST be a Republican.

I know this because stereotypes are always true just like everyone who steals is black, every straight A student is Asian, every brown-colored person is illegal, and every snobby-bitch is white.

    "Hate is hate.

    . . . and tautology is tautology . . .

. . . but hey, now that you bring it up, let's look at it, take a gander, as it were . . .

Mean old Jehovah hates all of us queers, that is indisputable (and he hates the rest of humanity so much that he murdered almost everyone on the planet way back when, but that is for another day) . . . and without Jehovah there would be no Israel, right? . . . so, what explains your fixation with a land granted by an anti-gay, anti-human murderous monster? self loathing? . . . misanthropy? . . .

. . . and how can you condemn the execrable Mel Gibson for being so thoroughly, yea even religiously Jehovian?

What is he doing endorsing and raising money for a Republican candidate then?

    Stereotypes are not always true.
    But, they often are.
That's how they came into being.
It's not wrong to state the obvious fact that sterotypes are largely based in some fact.
It's wrong to prejudge people based on the existing stereotypes of the particular group they belong to.
Prejudice is what's wrong and unfair.

It's sad but true that the sterotype of Republicans being racist bigoted and intolerant is one of the stereotypes most grounded in FACT.

    I see, thanks

There is so much more to say but at the end of it all I guess all you can do like my old JROTC MSgt Clark use to say:

"Look at the poor sap beside you and say, glad it isn't me"

it's quite clear . . . the root of so much anti-gay hate resides in Jehovah and his fetishists - from Ceasarea to John Hagee . . . so your ugly point is?

oh that is right, your point is ugliness for the sake of ugliness . . .

. . . do I need to revive the silly and fawning email that you sent me, bitch?
