"Those who don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

The 3-day riot that launched the Gay Rights Movement.

    Inspired!

AMAZING! I just relayed the story of stonewall over the fourth of July weekend to a guy in his early twenties that had never heard of it. He honestly didn't know how Pride came to be. I will be seeing this film for sure and recommending it to everyone! Great post!

Thank you for posting this. Invisibility has always been the enemy and strength of gay people. Unless we link Pride with the past and help younger gay people to understand that they have a past beyond the personal we will become invisible again.

Thanks for posting that, it was very inspiring. I don't think a lot of us (younger people) actually understand the gravity of it all, plus with the AIDS disaster in the 80s and 90s.

I will watch this and force all my friends and foes to watch it. I don't know why there isn't a huge movie on this, or about the onset of the AIDS epidemic yet. The lack of knowledge passed down from one generation of gays to the next is astounding.

The Riots were a turning point in recognizing that homosexuals actually do exist in this country
and the Time is ripe for immortalizing that moment in our societies conscience by making a movie about it or setting it to music
because people may KNOW that it happened but most have no idea what an important step it was

another good film is GaySexin the 70's. Different but still shows a younger audience how we got where we are.
I liked the post recently about the survey and the DADT. Why aren't we out bashing heads and marching in the street. When did rights become such a lazy activity.

Oh my god! Thanks for this post! I had no idea what gay people went through! I have heard of the Stonewall riots before, but had no idea what it was all about. This really makes me appreciate the world I am living in, and makes me more proud than ever to be a gay man!
