MuchMoreThanMuscle saidIs this some sort of floozy trick question?

When I personal trained I did not allow for silly banter. In fact, if my clients tried to distract me with chatty bullshit it was all the more reason to crack out the whip and give 'em a good pop in the ass!!!!

Now shut the fuck up and WURK!

    Ditto. Ditto. Agreed. Agreed.
When I was a Personal Trainer the same thing MuchMoreThanMuscle.

The trainer at my gym spends more time looking at his phone DURING A SESSION than he does talking with/watching his client!

Now maybe he's checking an online workout program he's designed for the client ("There's an app for that") but I would never hire this guy, based on appearances.

I wish my trainer was equipped w/ this wrk ethic.

Well, my personal trainer was really cool. Although at times, he would tell me so much more than I needed to know (like the girl at the gym whom he slept with).

He would talk to me in Spanish, lord knows what he was saying.

I've never played with my original personal trainer... but he did ask me to go hiking with him one day. icon_redface.gif

...he sort-of withdrew the invitation as soon as he offered it.

I don't have a personal trainer so i'll talk about the ones that work at my gym.

The first one...he talks...and talks and talks and talks...then he yells at his client and resumes talking...by the time he's done, i feel drained of all intelligence, but my mood is lightened alot by it so i don't always mind. When he has no clients or is waiting on one, he decides to tell me what i'm doing wrong. I give him my "do i look like someone who really cares?!?!" look...we laugh, but i always end up taking his advice (he doesn't know that so shhhh...hehe).

The other one is more of the quiet type so he just smiles every time i pass him by and does a fist bump...when he talks, i have trouble hearing him because he's very soft spoken.

The rest i'm on a "hi/how's it going" terms with.

Overall though, all the trainers are really sweet and friendly.

I train with a friend of mine. I'm usually too busy bustin my ass for him to bust it.

Plus, I'm pretty sure he's straight.

OMG, I can't believe how many of you have personal trainers. No way I could afford one, not right now anyway.

Well, mine's just a lifting buddy, but he makes the plans, I just show up. Essentially, he's letting me lift with him...works for me.

I can't afford them either...or better worded, I don't put that in my budget.
Instead, my work brings me in contact with trainers from time to time. Each of them has some type of advice they give, so I get a collection of advice that way...and do my own research to verify what they say.

Only one of them knows my name off by heart, but I don't know hers so I should find out to not be rude. She does the aqua-aerobics class and when she is giving it she walks around on the side, including on this really thin ledge. I think she is going to fall in the pool one day!

Back when I had a personal trainer, we didn't fool around. He was a nice guy and very hunky, but we just didn't go there. The relationship was cordial but based on business, and we each had out designated roles.

I try to enjoy training as much as possible. That means taking a couple minutes to talk! jeez. 5 minutes out of 55 isnt going to kill you, Muchmore. Anyway, he ended up telling me all of his dirty secrets and relational issues. Being a psychologist has its perks, people like to tell you things that you didnt ask to know. haha.

if I were paying for training sessions, I'd want to get my money's worth

if I wanted to fool around with a hot guy, there are other professions that can be paid for that

Haha exactly! My trainer and I talk about sport and a few TV shows we have in common. He's straight so he tells me all the funny stories from living with his girlfriend and I talk about the trials of trying to date in the gay world. All up it's probably 5 minutes worth of conversation out of an hour.
