Why must some medicines be taken on an empty stomach?

    I want to know that why some medicine should be taken empty stomach?

    I believe some meds can't get diluted or they loose their potency.

    i think it has to do with the medicine not being absorbed in the stomach (not as effective) and the stomach in digestion might render the medicine useless by the time it reaches the more absorptive duodenum

    In most cases it's because the meds have to be distributed through blood stream, but aren't soluble in water. Your body uses Albumin to distribute stuff like lipides, which wouldn't be soluble alone. After a meal most Albumin is busy with freshly digested stuff and can't help the meds being distributed.
