My Dad always taught me to never bring anything to a fight that can be take away from you and used against you.
People should be allowed to have a gun... but what the hell for I have no idea. It is an Amendment right.
The problem with pulling a gun on someone... even if you're trained on how to use it... If you're not in the mind set to use it wisely then you might as well shoot yourself. For example, I have been able to drive since I was 7 years old. I have driven all kinds of vehicles, but that doesn't mean that I can drive in the Indianapolis 500. I believe everyone should be trained how to use a gun. Then take a self-defense course... and by all means learn how to take someone’s weapon away from them and know how to beat the living shit out of the with it, then hopefully you won't have to actually shoot them.
Homophobic predators rarely attack a gay man alone. My God they might actually loose and then that would be little too embarrassing. A gay man can be as Nelly and limp-wristed as he wants to be... but to be defenseless is ridiculous.
Two drag queens in a town I lived in once were walking to the bar for a drag show one night (kind of stupid since it was a really bad neighborhood) but they weren't afraid. They were attacked, but since both of them were black belts... the poor attackers went home by ambulance. Of course it was in all the papers.
I have been around guns my whole life and owned a few... I was in the army for many years... I have been trained how to use them... But could I take control of a desperate situation a maintain control of it. I am not willing to find out. I would like to hope so. I don't and won't ever carry a gun.
Point of it is, there is no better deterrent for homophobia than getting your ass kicked by a fag. AND MAKE DAMN SURE you politely remind them that you're FAG ASS has just kicked theirs.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXXjcYCUB2Y&feature=related
