Check out this fascinating and revealing analysis of the facts regarding the way the Fox propaganda channel is spinning viewers with biased coverage and flat out lies.

    http://mediamatters.org/blog/201007150031

It would be shocking if we didn't already know that Fox spends most of it's time operating as a pro-right-wing propaganda machine that spins and misinforms Americans 24-7.

    OMG!

I'm sure now everyone on RJ hates Fox News because you have brought this to our attention.

Oh wait... everyone on RJ already hates Fox News. Nevermind.

    LOL
    And for good reason.

Why wouldn't we hate a hopelessly-slanted entertainment network posing (quite convincingly, to idiots) as a news organization?

    BTW..."never mind" is two words.

And may I have some more Snap-E-Tom? No more vodka, though...I have a meeting right after we land.

Begs the question SB .............. Why would you defend a news organization and I only use that term in the most ironic sense
Why would you defend something that has been shown time after time to be a shill for right wing demagoguery even if they have to lie to do it?

Wasn't that rancher killed down in Cochise county this winter? What is your spin on that Rick? What kind of work do you down in Sierra Vista? As an Arizonan who does support SB 1070, I'm curious to know why you don't? I almost believe it's your fear of being associated w/ anything Republican! icon_lol.gif

putting myself out to be slammed but
    Fox-far right
    CNN-far left
the truth rests (usually) in the middle. but then that's just my opinion.

The article was too long so I only read the first couple of paragraphs. Fox News is RIDICULOUS and there is almost no story they do that isn't some sort of propaganda.

That said, the problems being caused by the organized crime syndicates running the people and drug smuggling operations in AZ are huge and it's almost anarchy.

Don't bash on me, I'm not blaming the nice little illegal aliens who are just here to make a better life for themselves. But the alien and drug smuggling organizations are vicious, callous and incredibly powerful. AZ isn't too far away from turning into Mexico with regard to the violence down there.

The law was a reaction to the lawlessness that is occurring down there. It was not enacted because of "brown" people.

haha! I completely forgot about that channel, but then I typically read about the issues that interest me from as many sources as I can. the only tv news I actually watch is the Daily Show and Colbert Report.

Fox is covering the story of the lawyer who left DOJ because they would not press major charges against the New Black Panthers who were at the Philadelphia polling place in 2008. The lawyer alleges DOJ has a policy to not prosecute polling crimes if the victims are white.

I had the impression the other networks were not covering this story. Would be interested in any clarification.

Kind of surprised - I didn't think they were billed as news programs, but comedy shows that touched on current events.

True. but depending on how dark my mood any television news broadcast is deemed a comedy show in my mind. However those are only on my extremely bitter days, which come few and far between.

OK, as long as the bitter days are only extremely rare. Gotta stay positive. I sometimes worry about my friends here who get so passionate, I'm afraid their blood pressure goes up. I want them to stay healthy so they can debate me. LOL

debates are cool. I always read the 'controversial' topics in hopes of learning something, but I have to filter through lots of mud slinging which is really odd, cause I thought I left middle school many years ago. Oh well.

You have no business being on this website because clearly you hold views that are at odds with 99% of the other "members" on RJ.

Only "good" gays are allowed to post on RJ. Clearly, you are not a good gay and because you hold views that 99% of the RJ membership disagrees with, that calls into question whether you yourself are even gay. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Actually I have the sense that it is not anywhere close to 99%. There is a very active, passionate group that is left, and a fairly small number who post the left leaning positions. I think many on both sides are silent, but there are a significant number who are right leaning in that they want limited govt, etc.

From what I have seen myself, Arizona is being overrun (literally) by illegal immigrants. Until the federal gov't steps up and takes control of the borders like it should. Arizona has to do something. If nothing else, this law has brought this crisis to the entire nation's attention.

CNN is so Milquetoast that they're hemorrhaging viewers. Sadly, most people who watch cable news do so not to learn but to have their existing views reinforced.

Media matters is actually not a propaganda machine. All they do is post the actual audio, video and text of what the right wing is saying. If you or the right are unhappy with the outcome, you have no one but yourselves to blame.

I personally love Fox, I agree completely with arizona and it actually infuriates me that our own president wont stand behind one of his states and support them. I may be 19, but im very interested in news and such, I make it a habit to watch all three channels everyday to see what they all say. (got to love DVR) lol. There is a major immigration issue happening down there and its about time somebody addressed it. Im just ready to cast my vote in hopes obama gets the boot. which I see happening if he keeps up the way he is running this country. And on a side note, somebody mentioned the black panthers thing, I wont even get started on that, that just flat out DISGUSTS the HELL out of me.

    Let the bashing begin...Now. lol

I'll tell you why I don't support SB 1070: it doesn't address the problem at its source. The focus is on the undocumented alien; why isn't the focus on the employers? How many employers have been fined or gone to jail?

I bet if you watched both msnbc and fox news you could decide for yourself what is and isn't important.

That way you don't have to spend all this time wigging about things you can't control and thereby empower yourself to formulate individual positions on current events.

Complaining about the other party's news outlet is probably more satisfying, though.
