    Time Travel...

Here's the scenario: You're an archeologist and you and your team are on a dig in New Mexico. You see something that arouses your curiosity and begin to dig deeper and deeper until you uncover a large mechanical device.

Scientists determine it's a 'time machine' but only you can decipher the glyphs to unlock its secret. You decide to test the device.

Question: What period in the past or in the future would you travel to?

Either Athens during the classical period or 4000 AD to see what the hell is going on then.

Bit of a paradox this one - traveling to future would be great and if something happened to the device you would then know that you can get it repaired. However, there may be rules about time travel that could get you in to serious trouble - think time-cops.

If you go into the past i guess you won't have the skills or resources to repair a device that may get damaged but you could leave yourself a message as either help or warning on what to expect if you take the trip.

I think I'd be happier selling the tech for money and just living it up today icon_smile.gif

I'd go to 2035, get the latest iPhone, then write an overly long, snarky post about it on a gay fitness website.

I'd like to travel back to Berlin in the heyday of the Weimar Republic.

I would take it to the Salvation Army. My cellphone keeps better time.

    I'm magic.

    This is completely unnecessary.

I want to meet the aliens, when they arrive.

So I guess I'd jump ahead at 25 year intervals until I see aliens.

I remember when I was first asked this question. It was 2037, and I was sitting on my porch with a cool drink . . .

In this case my gut-wrenching questioning of how did I fuck up my life so bad as to end up clawing at dirt in New Mexico...

Sexy option B: The growing bulge in my sweating dig team member's khaki shorts.

To even end up in New Mexico is a sign that you fucked up somewhere along the road.

Go back to my ancestry to visit a sauna at Pompeii around AD 20, then visiting a bar elsewhere in the city, demonstrating my battery-operated cassette player to all gathered there. Bliss!

I thought a lot about this and I'm still not sure
If I go to the past I wont have any money to buy anything since my money will be from the present time so I couldn't invest in anything, also if I go too far back it would be hard for me to understand anything anyone says since I'm used to modern english not Shakespeare talk
However if I go to the future I would have no idea what is going on due to the time difference, for all I know I could appear in the middle of a world war

I know I've over thought this

I'd go shoot my great-grandfather when he was 10.

    Goodbye, causality!
