Anyone use any of these while training back? Since I need to increase my arms strength and size anyway I probably wont use them yet, but as you want to increase your back size and definition is it beneficial to use them so you can concentrate more on you back muscles and take your biceps out of the movement?

i usually use wrist straps when I bench as they provide a great deal of support to my wrists. I've tried hooks for deadlift and pullups once and never again: they dig into the hand in a really uncomfortable way. I've also used what are called strangulator knee straps from http://www.prowriststraps.com/. They're insane. I squatted 180kgs/(about 400lbs) for 2 with those on me and no other support. I felt like He-man after that. I also had three spotters while doing that so I never felt that I was in danger if I failed.

I use straps when doing pullups and deadlifts. Only on the last set or two though. I've heard if you use them on every set, you won't get your grip any stronger. But on the last set, they can help you get outna couple extra reps after your grip gives out. Give them a try.

I was just about to say: A little creativity goes a long way! icon_wink.gif

As for the straps and wraps and hooks and stuff, I've used them to familiarize myself with them, but prefer to not use them. I'm not a fan of isolating muscles too much. If I can't lift it without help, I lower the weight and build ALL the muscle groups associated with the task. I know that's just me, but it's my preference.
