Sounds more like a drug deal gone bad than a hate crime.

We need to legalize marijuana. I heard that more than 70% of the violent crime in mexico is related to marijuana and the Mexican mafia. It is like the mafia in the US during prohibition. Take away the profit margins and you decrease the number of people trying to make money off it.

Legalization could slash the price of pot 80%

Legalization would also stop all or most of the killing.
But that's actually logical, and sometimes it takes awhile to convince lawmakers of logical things.

hmm... guess ill add my 2 and 1/2 cents

first i think that alochol is as bad as 'weed"

its hard for me to think of it being legal as its a plant... but then again tobacco is a plant and i wouldnt buy it from a farmer as i prefer it processed

its bacically a very hard goverment decision to make make something that is bad for your health legal. yes pot is use for eye problems and alochol in moderation is some good for you but over all they are bad for you. desision like this are made when the majority of citizen want to have this vice even though they know it bad for them legal. in most parts of the world people will vote againt making it legal including users.

I prefer weed to be illegal as its one of the least "bad" drugs out there... when making drugs legal you open door to stronger drug usage. i believe that if it was made legal there would be a few more users and it out reduce murders over it BUT the other drugs that has more dangerious effects would increase and the crimes over them would increase when is alot worst.

setting the boundaries low making one of the less bad drug, lower the usage of some of the more dangerious one.. at least i think it does..

ill find out in 50 years when weed is legal ...icon_twisted.gif

MJ is legal in Holland and many people´s attitude is that it´s boring. I don´t really get what the problem is with legalizing it elsewhere...

Are you fucking serious? That is not justification whatsoever for the level of violence existing in Mexico.

About the government making stuff thats bad for you "legal", Im sorry, but Im not hurting anyone else, the government should do its job and stick to things like gun control, that influence how peope hurt eachother... It has no business sticking its nose into what it thinks is morally correct for people, be it drugs, prostitution, or.. sodomy!!!!
