New Balance have always worded fairly well for me, but not everyone's feet are the same. Puma makes some decent running shoes that are kinda cheap. I recently bought some cheap underarmor shoes, but while they are comfortable I'm not too sure about how long they will last.

I just bought some Brooks Defyance 3. They cost $100 but you might be able to find them somewhere on sale or slightly cheaper. This is my third pair of Brooks and I have been very happy.

For your height/weight, maybe check out the Asics Gel Kayano, for extra cushioning. Or the Asics GT-2150 for less cushioning and more stability.

But honestly, you should find a running store in your area and have them select the proper shoes for you. Do a Google Local search and I'm sure you'll find a few. When I first started running, I bought a pair of Nike cross trainers.. developed a stress fracture within a few months. It wasn't fun.

I've tried most brands on every time I go shoe shopping.
Every time for the past 10 years, I've chosen Saucony.
