The Scream Trilogy has a huge gay following. I understand slasher thrillers aren't for everyone and that's ok...but is there anyone here who is actually excited to see Neve, Courtney, and David come back? The movie also has some other amazing casting choices as well...looks like it'll be something fun to go see. icon_smile.gif

Plus...they have some hot young guys in this film icon_smile.gif Sorry...had to bring the gay into it somehow...haha. icon_smile.gif

Awesome! I love Neve and the whole Scream series. I remember watching the first one as a kid, can't wait to see the new one!

The first Scream was amazing to me since I watched it when I was pretty young. Scream 2 and 3 just didn't do it for me though. I definitely won't see number 4.

My friends and I ran into the cast as they were leaving a bar we occasionally go to in Ann Arbor. It was pretty neat to see them in the flesh, instead of just on television or in the movies.

    I haven't seen 3 yet, but I'm glad 4 is being shot.
    Pun intended. icon_wink.gif

love the genre but hate that everything is a remake or another sequel and Hollywood can no longer think of anything somewhat original

Rujock beat me to it: no more sequels, no more remakes. There are tons of great unproduced, original scripts out there.

It's funny that some of you are talking about your distaste for remakes and sequels because that is what Scream 4 is going to poke fun most. The plot is supposed to be about this genre's "sequelitis" with movies like Saw and remakes like Rob Zombie's Halloween.

And for those of you who said Scream 3 sucked -- you're correct. But that's also because it wasn't written by Kevin Williamson who wrong Scream 1 and 2, Dawson's Creek, Vampire Diaries, etc. Scream 4 has been written by him. He's one of the most gifted horror movie writers of this era, and I trust in his ability to put together something that will be entertaining.

True. But Scream is still the highest grossing horror movie trilogy (per movie) of all time. So why would a studio risk picking up a new script when this movie already has a fan base that will guarentee profitability?

    It's all about the money...

I hate sequels... Especially for bad movies from the 90s. I hear they're making a new Austin Powers too, not that I ever saw or want to see any of them.

BTW...that's a fan based trailer...not an offical one.

Filming is scheduled to last 3 months and they just started filming 3 weeks ago...so they won't have a trailer out until sometime around Halloween. ;-)

The Scream trilogy has a huge gay following? According to the film distribution co., perhaps, but that's the extent of it. Your comment is not based on reality.

Actually, my comment is based off the hardcore gay fans on IMDB and ScreamTrilogy.net. On IMDB, probably some 40% of the people who post are gay men. There has even been several threads created on there just for gay fans to respond and get to know each other.

Stat-wise, it's hard to prove anything about the gay community as there aren't many consulting firms polling gay interests. So I can only make comments based off of observations just as everyone else does.

Um. I'm super excited. I still love the Scream Trilogy.

But, being that it's been ten years since the third one, I do hope that they (the production company/film makers/etc) remember this is a Scream movie and hopefully do not turn it into one of those slasher-porn flicks (isn't that just a great new term) where it's all just gore and breasts.

And, while I'm excited the original cast and characters are returning, I am going to go ahead and voice my concern for "what if" Gayle and Dewey are in the opening sequence. icon_sad.gif I mean, it almost feels like something that could possibly happen...I just don't want it to. I like their characters too much.

Gale, Dewey, nor Sid die in the opening scene. They've been spotted out and about filming too many scenes the past few weeks...so it wouldn't be possible.

Additionally, those 3 will be in Scream 4; however, they are not going to be the main characters. Scream 4 will center about Sidney's cousin Jill and her friends in high school -- and the story will reveal a lot more about Sidney's family told from another angle. Scream 4 is the first part of a new trilogy (so Scream 5 and 6 will likely happen) with the new characters taking the leading roles.

Scream 4 will make fun of torture porn's like Saw...but it won't be like Saw.

Those are all facts that we know. Go to Screamtrilogy.net if you want more information.
