For those of you who in the 30-40 yr old age bracket, I'm wondering how much you guys actually work out during a week and how many days you are resting. Sometimes I think I'm over-training and not seeing benefits as much as I could. I'm trying this RJ 12-week program and it just kicks my ass sometimes, to be honest.

I'm 31. I usually do 5 days of exercise in a row (though that includes playing field hockey on Saturday and training for that on Monday night) and then take either a 1 or 2 day break. I don't stress myself if I need the two days in a row because I've learnt from past mistakes to listen to my body. If I'm tired, no point pushing myself harder because I'll just get sick.

Since I don't know your life's schedule, it's impossible for me to know if you're overtraining.
But I can say this: Listen to your body. It will tell you what it needs.

I'm pushing myself these days, and I hit the gym 5 days a week or weights and do cardio on a sixth day. Some days I'm exhausted by bedtime...like I could fall asleep on a concrete floor. That never happened in my early-mid twenties!! _But_ I still crave the gym the next day, come 5 PM. Even on my days off...i'm kinda sad I don't get to go work out...

So, yes, more tired, but still going 5-6 days a week

32 here and doing the strong and lean, on week four. Yes it kicks my ass, but I'm really trying to push it every workout. The first week though, I couldn't do all three days of strength training, I did two though and limped around that weekend.
