How long is your....

    Workout? On a regular basis?

    What else did you think this thread was about? PERV! haha.

    No seriously, how long do you normally workout for? How often a week? Finally, what type of workouts do you do for each of the days?

    Ex. Back and Chest - Monday, Biceps and Triceps - Tuesday, Cardio - Wednesday, etc etc.

    I ask, because I'm really into fitness...but my boyfriend...not so much. Or he "wants" to be, but doesn't have the time, and that bugs me....kinda a little...kinda a lot...

    All I really ask from him is at least 30 minutes. At the beginning, end, lunch...anytime during the day...just 30 minutes. Is that too much to ask?

    He's a Petroleum Engineer, so he's always working....but fitness and yes...looks (shallow, I know) are important to me!

    Is 30 minutes too much to ask for?!??! Maybe not even everyday, but every other day?

    Am I too harsh? And please, less of the "you shouldn't try to change him" replies please. He knew where I stood on this subject BEFORE we started dating. He said he'd start working out more. I didn't talk about it for a while, and found that if I don't ask about it, then he rarely does a workout on his own!

    Oh, and maybe it's just me, but cardio and mowing the lawn only just DOESN'T cut it!

    Thoughts? (Sorry this message was so long and drawn out).

    Why can't you just be happy with having a bf. Just as long as he loves you.

    Anyway no 30 minutes isn't too much to ask for. Have u guys considered working out together.

    I work out between 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day because I'm doing the muscle building workout from this site.

    Working out together can be a great shared experience, if your schedules can work. I've done it myself with BFs. So yeah, that would be sweet. And as for the sauna and showers together afterwards, well... icon_biggrin.gif

    But ya know, some guys don't need to work out to stay fit, because their ordinary activity level keeps them in good shape. Yeah, they might not be sculpting their bodies, but they're still in good health, trim and healthy.

    So is your BF out of shape? Overweight? Flabby? Does he really need the exercise?

    As for myself, I bicycle on the road about 90 to 120 minutes several times a week. My goal is getting ready for a long bike ride. For me, that's a solo experience, though I know gay couples who do ride together.

    Have you considered other athletic things you can do together? Tennis, perhaps, or racquet ball, swimming, or the biking I just mentioned? Maybe he's just not a gym rat, but would do something else with you.

    Find way to make it fun and gratifying for him, or forget it.

    Start slow, and give him positive feedback.
    Don't be bossy.

    Be manipulative, in a nice and upfront way : promise to give him special sexual treat that he enjoy each time he goes to the gym. Or do something that he would like you to do (take a degree in geology ;-) .

    In other word, prove him your are able and willing to go out of your way if he agree to go out of his way for you. Make a deal

    You are young. Don't dismiss the 'don't try to change him' advice, you don't want to look back on your life and realise you fucked up a great relationship for a detail.

    Last point : there is a life out of fitness and look

    i do about 45 mins session, with like maybe 30 seconds break and oh i also super set with one body exercise, also workout about 5 times a week...2 on 1 off 2 on and one little session on a saturday...

    Back, legs, biceps Abs

    Chest, triceps, shoulder abs Cardio


    Repeat day one

    Repeat day two Cardio


    stretching/ flexibility, cardio
