Where No One Has Gone Before!

Here's the scenario: You're a highly-decorated admiral in Starfleet and you just received orders to visit a recently discovered nebula in the Beta Quadrant.

When you do visit the nebula, you further receive encrypted information that a new starship called the USS Polaris had been constructed there but had been TOP SECRET to everyone but a select few.

This powerful starship has been planned for years and purposely engineered to travel across the galaxy in days and even to other galaxies.

Question: If you had been given the command of the USS Polaris, where would you go where no one had gone before?

Back on topic. I would take the ship to the Delta quadrant and decimate the Borg home world.

And why not? At the very least (and I like it), he has a very vivid imagination unlike the older guy who apparently only mostly posts terrorized looking kittens. icon_evil.gif

LMAO! OK, now that's an image.

Actually we haven't seen much of the lolcats here for quite a while, have we? And I must confess, I found some of them kinda funny. Maybe not the "terrorized-looking kittens" but there was some silly stuff I liked.

BTW, regarding the OP, my military background makes me question whether such a vessel would have been constructed solely for travel at greater speed & distances without some additional mission in mind. What was Starfleet's own motivation & goal?

I would want to know what that intended mission is. Because if it's just to go farther & faster, then I would presume performing the existing Starfleet mission is its purpose: providing a platform for melodramatic crises that threaten the crew at least weekly.

The Beta quadrant, because it is largely unexplored. Or I'd go to the center of the galaxy. Or I'd go finish off The Dominion in the Gamma Quadrant.

I would take it to CoRoT-7 b to see whether humans can inhabit it or not.

Edit.: GJ 1214b then this one.

To one of the places most star trek nerds desperately need to go and have never been...

The shower, an age appropriate clothing store and a singles bar

    In that order icon_twisted.gif

Out there! [Waves vaguely, smiles mischievously but knowingly, thinking "I'm a handsome........ sexy devil, and a great ...........actor too"}.

The whole point about boldly going where no-one has gone before is that you don't know where you are going. You only know the direction you head off in, and that it must not be where anyone has gone before.

I think it'd be pretty lonely going where no one has gone before. You get there, and there'd be no one there but yourself.

Yep...46 years old and proud of it. It's a shame that people like yourself tend to suppress your imagination. Not everyone here tends to think about sex and sports!

Keep your judgements to yourself, and perhaps you may become a happier person! icon_wink.gif
