OK, so this is a site for gay fitness, health, and life. If you aren't comfortable enough with the fact that you are gay to put your face out there, should you really be getting an award? For people concerned about their coworkers etc. seeing this site, it's not porn unless you make it porn, and most profiles here are rather tame so that argument is largely void except in the states where you can get fired for being gay. But seriously, if you aren't OK with the fact that you are gay and/or don't want people to know, why should people be praising you for not accepting yourself/facing fears and staying in the closet?

You act as tho it's the Nobel peace prize. Who cares, it's for one day and the significance is little to none as someone else will win tomorrow. It won't change their life but might make them smile for a moment during their day.

Pish posh. You argument is similar to someone saying "...why should people be praising you for being overweight/bald/homely/married/unavailable/old (or whatever else doesn't turn someone on)?

What you miss is that many men with no face pic and only a body pic share their face pic with many men they TRUST and LIKE. Those trustable/likable guys then vote the torso man in as MOTD.

What you also miss is a little self examination. If those torso only men are not sharing their face pics with you that should tell you something.....about you.

Now run along young man and do have a nice day.

Honestly it isn't a problem for me. It the guys vote a "headless" RJer as MOTD, then he deserves it.... the "masses" have spoken.

We've had threads about faceless profiles before. I don't pass judgement and I have other things to do than think about it.

There seems to be a significant bias against people who do not have pics on this site. Personally, I do not quite understand it. There are a number of reasons why a person may not have a pic. Why judge another's comfort level with posting a pic or not? Why can't we just be accepting, welcoming, and embracing? Over time, people may add a pic as a they grow comfortable with the community. I can say this because I was pic-less for four weeks when I first joined.

    Blah blah blah

Maybe they don't show their faces because they live in a bigoted community and they would be discriminated against. That has nothing to do with their comfort level with being gay.

I don't like putting my face on the Internet. It has nothing to do with sexual orientation. It's privacy. I finally compromised on this website by putting a picture up that is recognizable if you know who I am.

I'm glad people feel safe enough on this website to put their faces up. I've experienced the ugly side of putting up my face on a forum and learned it can be a really bad idea. For similar reasons I limit what I say about where I live.

Agreed. Some of us are in the military, where unfortunately you cannot "tell anybody that you're gay" and I know that many military men on RJ don't mind having their picture up, but I am sensitive to that. If I trust somebody and establish a good conversation (or sometimes if I just know it's not an issue) than I have no problem unlocking my pics! Not the end of the world I don't think.
