Timmy Leong and Dennis Tinerino both passed away this year in May. Leong, 82, was a former Mr. Hawaii and competed in the Mr. American and Mr. USA contests, and came in fourth in the 1956 Mr. USA contest, the best he did in a national contest. He was Asian (Chinese) and one of the few Asians in the bodybuilding fraternity and an icon in Hawaii where he and Rex Ravelle were the best known bodybuilders of their time. He never married. Dennis Tinerino, 64, won the Mr. America contest in 1967 and won Mr. Universe three times. In later life he became a Christian evangelist like Mr. America Dick Dubois and toured the world for Dennis Tinerino Ministries. He died of stomach cancer in Northridge, California.
