Ok so I am really upset there is not Dance topic on this site. If there is I certainly could not find it. I wondered if I should put this is cardio, but oh well.

I ballroom dance competitively. Its intense and very hardcore. I know what many of you are thinking, but it is actually very difficult. When the dancers look all pretty and greta, what you dont realize is we are in a HUGE amount of pain. Does anyone else out there do ballroom? Well does anyone else dance at all?

I do have to say, dancing like this has made my bar scene that much more amazing!

I started with contra dancing and English country dancing. More recently, I've taken up swing, and I like that, too. I met my boyfriend at a dance, so that was an added benefit!

I'm not opposed to the idea of a Dance Forum, but would it get much use? I've lobbied before for an Outdoor Activities Forum, that would include camping, hiking, RVs, fishing, hunting, etc (kayaking & some outdoor sports already have categories). And I know many of us do one or more of those things, but that idea didn't go anywhere.

BTW, my hubby was a serious ballroom dancer, partnered with his sister years ago in Boston. I'm a rather chaotic dancer, but he carries me when we take a turn doing a waltz or some other classic steps arm-in-arm.

I've always said yoga, done right, is amongst the toughest of workouts, but ballroom dancing, even done wrong, is also a killer!
