I know there's no right or wrong answer to this but I wanted to get some ideas of what you guys do. When do you meditate and where do you do it? Do you listen to music while you meditate. I think listening to ambient music or nature sounds could be a great addition to meditation. Thanks for any feedback!

I do it in the bedroom, usually before I get ready for bed. I usually listen to meditation podcasts.

Five minutes of quiet every morning... on the couch with my dogs close by and a cuppa joe in my hand.

I used to meditate best in my old appartement, middle of the city, high traffic, windows open. Traffic has become some kind of relaxing ocean waves sound to me.
Nowadays I live a bit outside of town and recently started meditating on the balcony on the top floor of my university (7 store building), since that's the only place nobody strolls along usually.

In the morning, either in the living room or bedroom. I concentrate on my day ahead, what will be the right thing to do and to ask God's help and guidance in doing it. I try to do it each day but don't always accomplish this. On the days I do it, it's amazing how much better my day is.

I find it's always better to meditate sans music. Music is simply too distracting. Mantras work better.

I do it at night because its very quiet and nothing to distract me. I also do it when i visit the local waterfalls because they mask the noise and that sound really relaxs me.

Well I have to lock the girls out of the bedroom when I do my mediations. They always end up licking my feet and tummy. Kinda hard to mediate when your getting dog kisses. lol

Doing my martial arts forms (I rarely do sitting meditation); either in the practice studio or outdoors, usually in the park I live next to. Sometimes, I'll do a single short form, others I'll go through all of them I know from a few different styles (often I'll repeat forms just for benefit).

During the summer I love to meditate in Central Park. Find a quiet spot away from all the screaming tourists and just enjoy nature. I also do a 15 min chahkra cleanse at least once a week. I find it helps keep me centered and focused.

Standing meditation, 20 mins every morning, is what is left of my martial arts...

I used to practice xingyi quan. Sigh. ....
