Cheerleading may not have been a sport 20 years ago, but with all the acrobatics and injuries they have to endure now, its just wreckless to deny them the same security measures and possibilities. I bet the Football players get a lot better healthcare then the girls in the short scourts that do nothing more then "hop around".

However, I do hope that those who do take part in Cheerleading press onward to advance their activity into the realm of officially recognized "sport". I've seen cheerleading squads practice, and those people work hard. Strength, endurance, skill, and grace are necessary for what takes amazing effort to look effortless.

Besides, male cheerleaders look awfully "sporty" to me. icon_biggrin.gif
