    What do you guys think??
Are you excited too or do you not care for it??

I am always excited for Ms. Spears.

If she can put out al album like Blackout while mentally ill / unstable... she has a talent for working with great producers to make an album that is fun, danceable and damn catchy.

    Love her.

I think she needs an image makeover. It amazes me how you see commercials for her clothing line but she always walks out the house looking like a mess.

Blackout was her best album and it sucks she wasn't promoting it like others. Hopefully her next cd will be like that one and this time she can perform Gimme More at her concert since she didnt at Circus!

I used to like Britney Spears. I don't listen to her music anymore since I was 15 or 16. I did hear a song from her last album though and I liked iticon_smile.gif

I thought Blackout was an above average pop album and certainly her best...it's a shame she was mentally ill during that time because had she promoted it, it would've done better. (Gimme More is still a sick, sexy, and raunchy track!)

Gimme More is my favorite song of hers ever. its fun and hot.

Stinks she didnt perform it during the Circus, i guess she didnt want any MTV VMA references to arise..

It will be interesting to see if a pefabricated pop princess will still have relevance in a post-Gaga environment. Britney is very good at being exactly what her producers want her to be. I'm not sure how much she even contributes to the phenomenon that is Britney Spears, especially when you compare her to the new blond bombshell on the block who writes her own material with a vision that borders on genius.

It hurts Britney's already shaky reputation as an "artist" that Gaga sings live and plays with real passion. Britney is a great entertainer every once in a while by accident, but she mis-lip-synced the words to her own songs on the last tour... I am not trying to be mean, but I have never understood her appeal. When I saw Prince live on the Musicology tour, he performed on a stage that had just hosted Britney's tour the week before:

"if you wanna be a star, the first thing you gotta do is turn your microphone on! The second thing you have to do is make sure it stays on!"

    Oh, snap...

I agree...Gimme More is also my favorite song by her.

Britney will always be around because deep down i think her fans know that she has a spark that other artists don't really have...she hasn't fully shown that recently but i know it's still there

I loved Blackout, and agree that it was her best album to date. "Gimme More" is my least favorite on the album, and I skip over it when it comes on.

"Break the Ice", "Toy Soldier", "Freak Show", "Hot As Ice" are way better. Damn, I love the whole album minus 'Gimme More" and to be honest, is not even a bad track.

Break the ice was BY FAR her most overlooked song. The production on that track was insane.... too bad she was in the hospital so she couldn't make a video. lol. Poor thing though, she needed a break.

    <3 my brit brit.

As far as the whole Gaga thing goes... I think their sounds and appeal are different. Its not exactly the same fan base... and Britney will always have many loyal fans. Her career is far from over.

I don't think Britney ever has wanted to be the one on stage at the center of attention. She was just thrown into the Disney sex ring by her parents, and clearly is still being abused along with her children by her father as the honest Courtney Love has said. icon_wink.gif

"britneys dad molested her , imagine the father that molested you owning you for slavery while your forced to sing songs picked for thier sexual content every night, insane right? i have it on First had authority, and fight as hard as she is and does she still didnt pull that card, its a pride thing i can relate to, However they want to play dirty, lets go, Im SO not affraid of the little trolls who hit this when i was f***** up who are called lawyers. lets GO." - Courtney Love

Hahaha I know I LOL'ed when I found about about her clothing line, I mean she dresses like a hobo, I read on perezhilton that her hair (or hair extensions) is always a mess cuz she's not allowed to use the same hairstylist more than 3 times so they can't become friends (WTFicon_eek.gif )
I'm not her fan or anything, but I do buy her albums and I went to her concert, and I agree, I loved Blackout.

I can't wait, and i've been a fan since her first single. "Blackout" is my favorite Britney album, so if it's as slick as that, I'm going to be happy. Britney and Danja are amazing together. "Get Naked", "Freakshow", and "Gimme More" are still fresh and sound modern even today - which shows that in 2007 she was ahead of the game. Britney has something that special - it's that X factor that is keeping her around - she may not be the best, but she's Britney Spears - somehow that happened.

As far as GaGa is concerned, I like her to, but she has yet to thrill me in concert. I was underwhelmed with the first leg of the US Monster Ball aside from a few scenes. I'm going again soon, so I'm hoping to change my opinion. GaGa just has not won me over 100% yet - but she may soon. I don't think she's any threat to Britney - Britney's fanbase is huge and hardcore - so if she delivers, she'll be fine.

Writes her own material, yes, that borders on average at best.

dancerjack said Gaga sings live and plays with real passion.

Real passion? There are MANY other women who sing and play the piano better than she will ever have the capability of doing.

Well not really a fan of the Spears but every now and again I like a song or two. She has not been very impressive over the past few years and not sure if she is even very relevant anymore, plus for me part of liking an artist is I have to not only enjoy listening to her music but I have to have respect for them to truly enjoy their music... I wish her the best though!

The part that everyone seems to skip over is the fact that Britney used to be able to belt it out. She had a very good voice, as you can clearly hear throughout ....Baby One More Time. There are many recordings and physical evidence that her voice was once very good and strong. Somewhere along the way, however, it just changed and for the worse.

So I believe that yes, she had the talent, but as for now, she does what she can to keep her music as good as it can be. And from that we still get great music album after album, and in my book that is A-OKAY with me!! haha

    BLACKOUT #2, cannot WAIT!!

"It will be interesting to see if a pefabricated pop princess will still have relevance in a post-Gaga environment. "

I think Brit's bald-headed rampage was the most shocking, subversive act any pop icon has done in decades. I feel that Gaga's persona addresses this sort of ugliness and tragedy, but Brit in 2007 was the real unvarnished thing. It's also difficult for me to see how Gaga's reign would've come about without Britney's collapse setting the stage.

Something that I think separates these two artists is that Britney could always be enjoyed (if you're into her brand of music) on an immediate surface level, no questions asked. Then this phase came along in her life... "Blackout" has many layers that one can read into the music if one so chooses. Gaga strives for this, and often succeeds, but I think her music often gets weighed down by all this intentional(/forced?) 'metadrama' that she stuffs into her work.

And contrary to popular belief, Britney CAN sing and play the piano.
