How do you turn him off? Do you slap him like you are slapping the snooze button on an alarm clock?

If you are NOT a morning person like me....or at least NOT a morning person before your first cup of coffee.....how do you get him to just.........
    SHUT THE FU*K UP?

I am a morning person, and if you thought I was being too chipper in the morning, gently telling me that you'd like me to make your coffee for you and not be too bubbly before you've had the chance to drink it would change my behavior straight away!

We are not alarm clocks. We have feelings, too.

Yes but that is you Bunjamon...you are just about perfect in every way imaginable. I am talking about someone who knows better....knows me better. He has said more than once "I thought you were up!". I have said more than once "Babe listen....you will know I am up when I say something to you....not when I stir a bit.".

Besides Bunjamon....I know there would be no problem with you waking me up in the morning...because with you in my bed I would never be asleep... icon_biggrin.gif

I would be grateful that they are not all cranky and miserable in the morning. Eh?

Maybe a conversation about "body clocks" would help you both to understand each other and make allowances for each other?

Isn't it great that it's a "give and take"?

I am totally NOT a morning person. My partner knows this, jokes about it, but has to accept it, because it ain't gonna change.

My voice is hoarse and a full octave lower than usual, I'm pretty much unresponsive, and not very tolerant of giving me shit. Be afraid, be very afraid.

with me being used to working 3rd shift, when Im off and at my bf's house its very difficult because he's used to getting up by 7 or 8am and is literally raring to go, smiling, talking and etc.

me on the other hand am wishing to God I could sleep some more and am very quiet.....he has learned by usually me giving him the "pit" look as he calls it. Which is short for Pit Bull, meaning hateful I guess, that he had better shut up very soon or all hell is about to break loose.

A few days ago, the hotel staff saw just how shitty I am before coffee.
I went to the lobby with my gigantic coffee cup, went to pour some coffee, then realized the cover was still on the cup.
    Oops. icon_lol.gif

I understand that some people just dread the morning but I love it. Nothing like an early morning run or some time to get some stuff done around my place. Your attitude and how your day will go is easily influenced by the first few minutes of your day. I would wake my guy up with kisses but leave him be for the most part if he's a crank ass in the morning! Sounds like you two need to get to know each other a little more. If you're in a solid relationship he should know these little things about you, shouldn't he? Embrace his good mood and give him something to really be bubbly about!

I just "woke up" after an arduous 4-5 hour sleep (on and off ever since the neighbor's dog had a barking fit at 1:30am) and the last thing I want to deal with is someone who seems like they slept better than me. They get the wordless baleful glance as a warning...

On the other hand....if I get enough sleep...I am the "too chipper" M'F'er

I couldn't have said it better myself. I love being happy, chipper, and excited in the morning. My Mom and my brother are the same way.

My bf is mean, and tells me to Shut the Fuck up, and that pisses me off. We have gotten in more fights over that.

And the shitty part is: I wake up and want to be chipper in another part of the house, and you choose to wake up when I do. Keep your ass asleep.

I wake up pretty early in the morning on weekdays, so no worries there but weekends I will just pull him down in the sheets and say "honey close your eyes and lets just sleep a little bit longer".

Its been a long while since i've been in the situation.

I'm usually the morning person. my two usual solutions that i've found work the best (from lots of failed mornings too)...

My Place: just get up, leave him be, and go do my own thing in the morning...

His Place: Kiss on his neck (and other places)... in the wild hopes that he'll want to participate in a different kind of morning wake up call

Both usually work, but its been a long time since i've had to worry about any of that... if anyone wants to change that, by all means, i'll make some room in my bed and stop hugging the pillows.
