Hey guys, I recently responded to someone's post on another website and I was a little surprised then the poster insulted me. I wasn't trying or did I have an intention in insulting him or demeaning his post. Here's a link to his post and the comments. Can you tell me what you think and whether or not I came across insulting? Getting a few eyes always helps! thanks :-)

Sometimes when reading someone else's wrds we tend to place what we think is their emotion/intent behind it. Instead of asking what you meant or how you meant it, he decided to be judge and jury. Your good.

Stuart_Lanning_Jr saidI don't need to research your recent background because you obviously KNOW why you offended him. What I am sighting is your desperation to search for validation. That is an obvious sign to me you only intended to relay your TRUTH. That is good enough for anyone I can conceive as a higher power. In other words... I trust you because you are frustrated in learning about yourself. It is the most attractive, dignified and personal human you can stand for up against any of us... YOUR skeptics. HOWEVER, my page left to turn are guys like you and I have many years above you still trying to find the strength to collect another golden secret.icon_wink.gif

You began your reply in a condescending way. That is prolly what initiated the friction.

(...edit for spelling....)Oh PLEASE MARY! your point was easy to read and understand, not every morsel and nugget out of a mouth or committed to paper or a blog is going to hit a home run with the audience, no matter how well crafted or how well intentioned it is.... some readers NEED to feel that they are the center of attention and don't like to be talked to as an equal peer...get over the hurt feelings, reload your typing fingers and fire at will!..every good drama queen can unleash a flame war....just expect a few good solid hits!...the bitch has it coming!!!icon_lol.gif

Girl I would have cut "it" lol...

I cant believe you're so calm about it Coast, I would've flipped...That said, it seems hes calling you that for something you said before, not what you said here, maybe get to the bottom of why he doesnt like you? I usually try the diplomatic route first, to see if we can find common ground and allowing me to fix whatever he feels disgruntled about.... if they decide to continue being blatantly disrespectful, I usually take some other form of action, but I try to remain respectful at all times...

Pretty much everything has already been said, so I will just be regurgitating... It is the internet- people misinterpret what you type, misinterpret the tone, the meaning or (usually in my case) misinterpret an attempt at humour. If there isn't something from the past you could (if you actually care what he thinks) PM him and ask what went wrong or you could just carry on... I would usually vote for option #2 and carry on- but it is your call...

One other point.. I'd try not to take the response very seriously. If you don't have a "thick skin", I'd develop one.
