    have you ever seen the movie beautiful girls? it's got matt dillon, tim hutton, mira sorvina and a very young natalie portman. it's both a guy/buddy movie and a romance movie... natalie portman will break your heart.

    if you're looking for something very deep, very metaphysical -- daron aronofsky's (sp) the fountain with hugh jackman and rachel weissz.

    Hmmmm...cuddle movie.
    Four weddings and a funeral.
    Love Actually

    I second The Fountain, a good if somewhat deep and intense.

    I think the following are great for 'cuddle' night (funny, 'feel good')

    Muriel's Wedding
    Priscilla Queen of the Desert
    Strictly Ballroom
    Tate Daniel (if you can find it)
    I've Heard the Mermaids Singing

    The Israeli gay romantic tearjerker Yossi & Jagger. It will never be considered great cinema, but it is a good cuddle movie. The scenes in here might seem like a spoiler, but don't worry as the movie is not that complicated and you kind of have the story figured out fairly early in the film.

    I love Love Actually! Haven't seen it in a long time though.

    How about some horror movies? That's a cuddle movie in a different way. icon_razz.gif

    That Jeff Stryker film, "Bigger Than Life".

    But seriously.

    "Love Actually" is indeed quite cool but all Christmasy and shit.

    On the advice of many poofs round here I bought that gay movie, "Shelter" which you might like - I could see it's appeal, especially if I were in my early-mid twenties ... at age 34 I found it a bit too "saccharine". Is that the word I'm looking for? You know, one of those movies that portray the coming out experience in a way that most guys dream about as teens but never experience. The whole deal with the kid being involved (I won't spoil it) took it from unlikely to ridiculous.

    I digress.

    Shit I dunno, watch Titanic or something. Fast track to the sad bits if you have to.

    "Dan in Real Life" with Steve Carrell is a little gem.

    If you want a tearjerker type movie then consider ""The Notebook", "A Walk To Remember", and my personal favorite, "August Rush"

    The fountain is awesome...also try Solaris with George Clooney but not with a new guy....more for a little bit of an established relationship or you could try the Holiday which I found to be extremely cute and more of a safe bet...

    One of the best dates I ever went on we cuddled on the couch and watched The Triplets of Belleville. It is sweet and cute but not maudlin.

    How about a gay flick;
    Trick
    Mambo Italiano
    Latter Days

    Those are decent date movies.

    But there are romantic chick flicks/tear-jerkers that work well too;
    Nights in Rodanthe
    PS, I Love You
    Dear John
