The past few weeks ive been going to the gym 5 days a week, I start with a mile on the tredmill (at around 6.0 speed) then i do about 15 mintues on the eliptical (pretty steady pace, not strenuous at all) and then i do some weightroom stuff.

ive noticed ive slimmed down a little bit in the past two weeks too which is good.

i don't really push myself much and rarely feel satisfied or sore after i work out.

im thinking about starting the 12 week program here and i guess ill startt with the stregth foundation? will that leave me feeling satisfied after a workout?

my ultimate goal is to have a flat stomach (ab definition would be nice but isnt mandatory), and well developed chest and some decent arms.

any you guys have some insight for me?

i also noticed the workout doesnt include running, can i still start my workout with a quick mile run? or just stick to the schedule?

just start the 12 week program as detailed on this site. be consistent and diligent in your application. everyone must start somewhere. establish your foundation, then move on.

    ack! so many questions!

there should be a forum on here where others that have gone through that sequence discuss their experiences. go there and find out young padawan. if it isn't there, start one. welcome to realjock. you can pick up your toaster at the nearest distribution center and your decoder ring will be sent to you in the post.

"do, or do not. there is no try."

I would personally start with a whole body workout first for a couple of weeks..maybe 4-6 weeks, and then start with the 12 week program.

That's how I started and by the time I started my personalized 10 week programs, I was more aware of what I'm doing and my limits. But then again, that worked for me. It might not for you.

Good luck and great job icon_smile.gif

Eat. Eat healthy and clean. Eat allot. Eat often. And keep doing your routine (or any other routine you enjoy, because the general idea is to stay active and push your limits with every workout).

Your profile and your orig post don't say how how much previous experience you have in the gym. Take your time and _gradually_ work your way into this. Patience will pay off since you will slowly build the strength in not only your muscles but your connective tissue. Many try too much too soon and only injure themselves. Really, a 12 week program is just the very start. If you can't complete what the workout plan states, no big deal. You may hear from others "go big or go home"...this may be your mantra in a year or two or three or four, but be self-assured in knowing that your are "building the base" now. Enjoy!
