Do you ever just want to throw everything away?

I don't know what it is about me but I can't stand clutter....less is best for me.

I get in these moods where I just have to throw stuff away, whether it be clothes or anything! Even if its something I know I will need later, if its in my way I throw it out!!!

I just can't stand it!! it is killing me right now not to go through my closet and anything I haven't worn in the last year to not throw it out, some with the tags still on it!!!!

I have actually had ex's in the past follow me in the car to the dump and have gotten in fights over stuff that I have tried to sneak and throw away while they weren't home and have come home and caught me.

I have heard of a condition where people collect and hoard things but do you think it could be a condition for the opposite as well?

I've been "de-stuffing" my life for about 8 years now. I've got everything down to what fits in a 10x10 room. I feel a freedom that is uncommon. I no longer feel emotionally attached to "things", only people.

It is a catharsis and a learning experience to give away all of your stuff.

I recommend it for anybody. Especially anybody experiencing an existential crisis. Purpose in life will become much more clear.

I love that man....I think thats awesome....I think now adays people just buy stuff and they don't know why. People in the old days never had storage units and the closets and etc were half the size they are now.

I am slowly downsizing my life and material things as well.

    Yes, and have. Twice.
    I call it "forced improvement."

I'm also moving my base of operations to San Francisco, and am using this opportunity to "give the evil eye" to even more stuff.

I am standing here now, packing, throwing stuff out, scanning and shredding, further reducing my material life "baggage".

Like going to the gym, like being 4.7% body fat, it's a continuous lifestyle feature that brings blessings every single day I maintain rigor.

Keep at it! I wish you at the very least as much joy as I have experienced living life with less.

I prune my belongings on a pretty regular basis, but I usually try to find charities to donate the stuff to, since it isn't exactly trash.

My grandmother's into it; whenever I'm at her house, it's just plain surfaces.
I can't live like that, I need me some creative chaos. There will be a little bit of clutter at the very least to add some texture to my room; an imprint of life... of sorts... icon_razz.gif

My last boyfriend's apartment just had paths through it. And, it was a big place. Every shelf in every cabinet (and, he had lots of built in storage) was jammed full of stuff. The things that he actually used regularly were on the front edges of each shelf. He had a covered and partially enclosed patio that you literally could not go out onto because it was piled so full of stuff.

I can't live like that. I'm far from being a minimalist, but I'm definitely a thrower. Items that don't fit into the trash or recycling get set out on the curb where city trucks come around and take it all away. If I'm not going to use it, I have to get rid of it.

I'm getting rid of stuff now, a lot of dearly departed friends have givin me really nice things but i need to throw stuff out to make room. Some things i'll keep but others just have to go...
I'm sure someone will find things in the garbage and give something a new home...

Instead of throwing stuff away, why not give to charity or have a garage sale and sell them?
Make money off of it, so nothings wasted.
