Do you look at pics of other physiques, read magazines, or just the feeling you get from when you work out?

Whats your motivation for going to the gym and staying in top shape?

There are lot of awesome looking guys on here. I became friends with this awesome bodybuilder type on facebook and he even admitted to me that he can't stand going to the gym everyday but he does it to maintain his body and physique and etc. I was shocked!! I thought I was the only one, but I don't have an incredible physique so its more understandable, haha.

Just wondered if some of the guys with the awesome physiques and etc ever get tired of the rat race of keeping up with it and what you do to stay motivated?

For me, I love seeing how much my body keeps changing and progressively gets better.

I work out so I can live for a very long time.

I love the attention I get.

I love how much energy I have during sex from all the workouts I do. Pays to be an endurance athlete.

Losing weight. Not long ago I was on the throes of becoming diabetic, not to mention the high risk of cardiac arrest. The end result of chronic obesity caused by comfort eating.
Now I have lost nearly five stone and I look and feel a lot better.

I find it addictive and it's probably the one and only thing, perhaps hobby, in my life that I'm able to stick to without getting sick of it.
Maybe it's still lingering memories of being the emaciated skinny kid haunting me into old age. It's sort of nice to get an occasional compliment from some stranger as well telling me what good shape I'm in as I trip over their white cane in shock.

I am constantly on the move so the gym is a part of my lifestyle. I also like the increase of quality dudes knocking on my door.I am broke at the moment and the gym is a cheap pasttime. Finally, I like working towards goals and hitting them.

I was obese as a kid. It's the memory of teasing and harassment I got from my family and peers that motivates me to keep fit and healthy.

Um, for right now, it's the thought that I can gain a little bit more weight so people won't keep asking me what I eat and wanting to transplant some of their weight onto me.

Plus the nagging voice in my head that says that I might as well make the most of it, since I paid for it already.

I get motivated by wanting to be in better shape by a certain time. For example, this summer my motivations included wanting to be in better shape for beach trips and my recent NYC trip. Wanting to look good at the beach/pool and in my new clothes. icon_cool.gif Next goal is, school starts in 2 weeks X_X

I'm motivated by reading magazines like "Men's Health". I'm also very motivated by all the beautiful bodies I see on RJ, and at the gym. The way I look at it, if they can do it, so can I! icon_smile.gif

Cazwell's Ice cream video, the fact that a fit body in sports gear is practically the hottest thing i can imagine... and the fact that there's nothing appealing about, "average" when you are in complete control of your own outcome.

    A combination of:

commitment to being healthy + wanting huge muscles + hating belly fat + kick-ass music playing in my ears + an excuse to see all the eye candy at the gym + OCD + kind of being addicted to it (it's a good addiction).
