So, I'm pretty new to the site and figured I ask if there are others out there who feel like I do. I certainly find some guys attractive but I'm not sure how much I'd want to do with a guy. Mostly I'd just like to find a close friend who I can share my interests with. At the same time I wouldn't mind that being someone I eventually settle down with. I'm one of those people who likes my routine but can still think out of the box. Anyway, rambling a bit here but figured I'd throw this out there.

There are all kinds of guys out there, some that like the same things you do. From looking at your profile it seems that you're a bit of a late bloomer that's thrown himself into work, hobbies etc and is just now dealing with some feelings you've had. Trust that you're not alone, be open to new people and experiences, and try not to over analyze yourself/feelings too much. Give yourself room to be who you are. Most of all enjoy your life, depending on your perspective it may be the only one you get!

Just live your life and explore. Once you are ready for something serious, it will be obvious to you.. and when you are ready, dont look for a partner as he will come along naturally.

That's certainly true, I've done alot of random things, and have focused on work. I guess I just don't feel like I know where to meet people. I'd just like to make some friends but it seems like so many people just want to know when your going to be ready to have sex. I'm up for trying new things but also happy to just hang out and chat.

    Very well said.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I can tell you that I have to actually stay mindful of how much I'm working so I can allow myself time to be useless. I'm terrible at this, because I hate being bored more than just about anything. But it's left me very little time to find cool people to hang out with. I wonder sometimes if I'm lonely because I work so much, or if I work so much because I'm lonely. Wish I could say more to help.

I don't know if there are any interest groups or gay sport leagues where you are, but that is always a good alternative to the bar scene for meeting folks. Also, as just a piece of advice don't put too many restrictions on who you can be friends with. You never know how someone you thought you had little in common with can change your life. Some of my good friends now I wouldn't have considered being friends with before coming out of the closet, but I'm glad I did as they enriched my life in ways I couldn't have imagined while in my self imposed isolation. In fact because of one of them I met the man I've spent nearly a decade with. Friends come in all shapes and packages. The main thing is find someone or a group to open up to and give yourself the permission to learn who you are. Don't judge yourself, it's pointless.

I couldn't have said it better than Aggieboy! Everything happens for a reason on its own time.
