I can be a huge HUGE diet coke/pepsi drinker as well as diet iced tea drinker both with major amounts of Aspertame. I am told that it is diet and not terrible for you but maybe I drink too much?

What do you guys drink throughout the day?

    Thanks

Like you, I found myself drinking too much diet coke/pepsi. Friends I work out with and friends on RJ clued me in to the fact that this stuff had to go - for the most part. I still will drink it lightly if I'm out somewhere - but I don't have it in my house anymore. Here is what I drink now - and it is good for us.......and that is good water with some grapefruit or lime juice added in. Here in Arizona we have tons of trees all over the place with those and other fruit. Anyway - just my suggestion - this helped me to not even miss diet coke and soda pop.

That stuff is SO not good for you!!! Pop/Soda's are SO bad for any training that you're working on, if you drink as much as it seems. Throughout the day I drink water, probably about a gallon a day. I MAY have a pop once/2x a month, but THAT'S it!!

I usually drink a cup of hot black tea in the morning, and then some cold green tea or fruit tea in the afternoon. Other than that, water. I don't drink sodas that much

Oh and on the topic of sweeteners, I use good old cane sugar or honey. Aspartame is about the only artificial sweetener I can take .. splenda or sucrolose give me "the runs" big time

After my 1-2 initial cups of coffee with French Vanilla creamer (yes, I AM THAT GAY), I drink water (either with or without Emergen-C). Used to add OJ to the mix but have even cut back on that unless I do half and half OJ to water in my water bottle.

Hmm... cup of tea in the morning, and either water or herbal tea (unsweetened) during the day... glass of milk with dinner (1%)... that's usually about it, unless I toss some fruit in the juicer.

I'm big on water, I drink it throughout the day. At night I'll have more water, Joose, or beer.

95% water here. I will drink unsweet tea from time to time. I bet I dont drink 3-4 diet drinks a month. After you quit drinking them regularly they begin to taste nasty!

There was a news story out last week, that diet drinks might actually make you gain weight.
Basically their theory is that your body senses the sweet, then gets ready for the sugar rush, which never happens, so your body then seeks out calories that would have been in the soda making you hungrier and causing you to eat more.
they've only tested on rats though.

here's the article from a British paper, but this was all over the American press too. this was just the first link that came up

Most of the time I have a glass of water. If water doesn't do it, then I'll have a glass of milk or O.J.
Soda is usually out of the equation.

I suppose I'm not allowed to say vodka am I? Seriously, just water except with meals, then tea during the day, and a glass of red wine with dinner...

    Water. Lots.
    Pomegranate juice.
Grape juice - all natural, low sugar.
    Propel.
Green tea - hot and iced, sweetened with honey.

    Ooh, I've been hot listed!

Oh. What do I drink all day long? Oops! How embarrassing. Water! Yeah... just plain tap water. Oh, and soups. That's it, that's all.

Sorry to hear you are diet drinker. In my opinion, diet drinks are a farce, and when drunk in large quantities defy thier given 'purpose'.

I usually drink any of a great variety teas I have, mostly without any sugar, but I will put a tiny pinch of salt, to enhance the taste of the tea, if it hasn't been made wrong. I also have one or two of either cranberry, pomegranate, white grape juices, or apple cider on hand. I'm a big fan of water, I prefer to filter it at home, and reuse a store bought bottle I've had for years now; instead of going out and buying bottled filtered water from the store. I drink organic whole milk and organic soy milk, alternating the two in my breakfast cereal and chocolate milk.

But, as much as I am a health nut, and looking for ways of improving my diet I cannot for the life of me ever see myself buying flavored and colored waters, or diet anything. It's more a matter of taste I suppose. I'm not against them really... diet sodas just make me burp, a lot!

    -About a gallon of water.
-Those clear zero calorie zero sodium soft drinks that every major grocery chain seems to be private labeling these days.
    -Green, white or oolong tea.
    -Diet Mountain Dew
    -The blood of my enemies.icon_razz.gif
    -The occasional americano.

    pan-galactic gargle blasters

(BTW: You'd have to drink 180 diet sodas in a day to "defeat the purpose" of avoiding the calories in a single regular soda. Yeechh.)

99% water. It keeps my skin hydrated and beautiful!! MAYBE coffee, if I'm having one of those days at work or if I'm on vacation and I have a good hearty breakfast!! My coworkers will tell they will never see me without a TALL bottle of water by my side.icon_razz.gif
