So I am about to partake in one of the current HIV vaccine trials going on around the world. This one is at Vanderbilt. Just wondering if anyone else was participating in one and if you experienced any side effects or anything. I have read up on the trials and know a lot about what research they are doing. They do not inject you with the virus at all and it is a double-blind study so I may get the placebo.

The guy I talked to here stated that they feel confident that with the help of the trials they can have a breakthrough in about 10 years. Seems far away but it is encouraging. It has definitely helped me open my eyes about the disease and the effort being put in to combat it. Definitely encourage anyone that isn't involved to see if there is one ongoing in your area and check it out. Plus there is a slight monetary reward for participating icon_wink.gif

    So is anyone else involved?

Will this have anything to do with HIV+ people as well? I use to keep up on it daily for about 3 years and it was bothersome when they would come up with a great idea but, no funding.
