Gay bar to open next to WTC mosque to cater to "Islamic gay men"

No, this is not a joke. In fact, it is one of the most brilliant pieces of provocations in recent years. Greg Gutfeld from Fox News' Red Eye announced today via his blog that he is actively speaking to investors and plans on opening a gay bar next to the controversial mosque being built near ground zero in New York. To make matters worse (better?) the bar will be specifically designed to cater to homosexuals of the Islamic faith.
God, this is going to be an exciting block!

Here's some snippets from his blog:

"So, the Muslim investors championing the construction of the new mosque near ground zero claim it's all about strengthening the relationship between Muslims and the non-Muslim world.

As an American, I believe they have every right to build the mosque- after all, if they buy the land and they follow the law- who can stop them?

Which is why, in the spirit of outreach, I've decided to do the same thing.

I'm announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque Park51, in an available commercial space.

This is not a joke. As u know the muslim faith doesn't look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I'm building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world.

Bottom line: I hope the mosque owners will be as open to the bar, as I am to the new mosque. After all the belief driving them to open up their center near Ground Zero, is no different than mine.

My place, however, will have better music."

I am not sure whether to take him seriously or not...I guess this is a good thing or is he trying to push the issue of not getting the mosque built because of the gay bar?

YES. And next to that Gay Bar, next to the mosque, I want to build a Mormon Temple, and Catholic Church and a branch of the Westboro Baptist Church, and well, just about any other Baptist Church, and yes ofcourse an extension campus of Jerry Falwell's Liberty University, and Pat Robertson's Regent University, and Rick Warren's Saddleback Church and Ugandan Kill the Queers Center.

YES, there are many neighbors who should be taught a lesson in tolerance.

But we can't put up the money to open a gay bar everywhere one is needed in this country.

So instead, I suggest we attend services occasionally at the mosques, the churches, temples of any kind and we find out firsthand if HATE is being taught. If it is, let's call them out. NOT BOMB THEM but actively address our grievance.

On my last visit to a Baptist church, to honor the baptism of a young nephew(just to be polite because the family invited me), the preacher used his sacred time to blast the Evil of Homosexuality. It was an out of nowhere tirade that came just after he begged the congregation to be especially generous in their donations that week. He tried to tie the money's use to the church's effort to fight Homos. Hmmmm, I suspect he had a car payment due and the gaybashing approach always worked for him.

The guy wanting to do it is more likely trying to get two groups he doesn't like to fight with each other...while he sits back and watches with popcorn.

I will let them build a mosque in New York City (ahem, there are already over 100 mosques in the five boroughs, WHY do they need another one, and why on THAT location?) when we can build a church in Mecca, in Saudi Arabia, in Iraq, in Iran...

The Jews allow Christian churches in Jerusalem and Islamic mosques, but why won't the muslims allow a church in THEIR country?

Iran and Iraq both have churches.
If you want a church in Mecca, might I suggest a mosque inside the Vatican?

Do you see how ridiculous that argument is?

But OP: This is very funny.

COLORED TEXT GOES HERERESIZED TEXT GOES HERE

First off I need to say that I think its OK for them to build their mosque but as the President said today it is questionable on whether or not they really thought this out. (paraphrased) Building a gay bar next door is brilliant! I hope they build one there even if the Muslims turn and run with their turbans between their legs. In honor of all the people that died 9/11 regardless of their sexual or religious beliefs.

To me it sounds like one minority group deliberately antagonizing another minority group.

There's a Catholic church at Church and Barclay. They've opened some sort of church, I don't know what the religion is, on Park Place just north of Church, which is a block north of the old Burlington Coat Factory where they want to put this mosque. I used to work right there.
